Wouldn't be surprised if Espinoza decides to buy this fight. Anything to keep the puppetmaster Haymon happy.

If not, probably ends up on FOX Sports 1.

Looks like ESPN will pick it up and air the fight mid-week. Dan Rafael says they want to combine this with the MW eliminator between Stevens and N'Dam.

Soliman will probably win by TKO or KO..........................Soliman was supposed to fight Golovkin, but chickened out...............

I was a huge Taylor hater back in the day. Not as a person, but as a fighter. I never thought he was that great.

Yes, he beat Hopkins twice, but both fights were close and had more to do with Hopkins not being active in either fight.

I honestly think Wright beat him and was jobbed.

The fact he could not put Spinks away was a joke. Does anyone recall how pissed Steward was in his corner? He was screaming at Taylor to throw punches. Embarrassing fight.

He then loses to Pavlik, twice. I had Pavlik winning the rematch clearly.

He was out of his element at 168, despite almost beating Froch. Let's be real there.

Taylor was a good fighter but also an HBO hype job. He was not elite.

That said, I think he can KO Soliman late. Soliman won't be able to hurt him. Soliman took this fight because it was less risk and according to him, an equal payday compared to a GGG fight. We shall see if his gamble pays off.

Good luck to Taylor. I would like to see him win another belt.

I kinda lost faith in taylor...he finds ways to lose. pavlik, froch, abraham...those guys were several levels below him in terms of talent. in each case it was taylor's conditioning that failed him. maybe his early success went to his head too soon...maybe he just lacks stamina naturally...but i remember reading how emmanuel steward quit coaching taylor after being with him on a few months when he realized that the guy had no discipline and a poor work ethic.

    - if you never thought he was that great why were you a "huge" fan?
    - what's wrong with winning close against hopkins? isn't hopkins even today one of best fighters around?
    - disagree with you about the wright fight...i had taylor winning close.
    - a joke that he couldn't KO spinks? Dude are you serious? This is cory spinks who outboxed zab judah and made mayorga punch air all night. Nobody got close enough to spinks back then to ko him...do you know boxing at all?
    - Against pavlik, Taylor was in lousy shape for the first fight...the second fight was very close, could have gone either way.
    - after the pavlik fights looked like taylor lost a step. froch never should have been able to stop him...abraham neither. a prime taylor coming off the hopkins fights would have put them both away.
    - taylor's early success made him complacent ..he started to rest on his laurels and lost his hunger. then when he started to lose, he lacked the self-discipline and drive to get back to the top.

Some of Soliman's yes men are claiming that Soliman is getting paid $1million for this fight?

I find it hard to believe
    Anybody confirm this?

Okay guy, where in that post did I say I was a huge fan? I never did. I would like to see him win a belt at this point of his career just because I like the underdog angle. He is 36 and past his best, but can beat a guy like Soliman.

There is nothing wrong with beating Hopkins in 2 close fights, but styles had a lot to do with it. I still give Taylor a lot of credit for beating Hopkins not just once, but twice.

Fair enough, but Wright landed the cleaner shots all night. Taylor landed a lot of hard shots on the gloves. Many had Wright winning. I had it 7-5 Wright. I can see 6-6, but nothing more than that.

Again, I didn't say anything about him being a joke because he could not KO Spinks, I more or less meant he couldn't put him away as in go after him and do damage. I don't recall him doing any real damage to him in that fight at all. Yeah, I know DICK about boxing.....good one. Spinks had NO RIGHT to be at 160. You mentioned fighters he beat at 147 and then proceed to tell me I know nothing about boxing? At 160, Taylor should have either done damage to Spinks and score some knockdowns or stop him.

I don't like when fighters or fans talk about wasted talent/being lazy. That is the fighters fault for not taking the game serious enough.

If he took this fight over the GGG fight then he must be getting a good amount.

True, but he said the offer to fight Taylor was nearly the same for GGG, so I can see why he took Taylor. I think he thinks he can beat Taylor, get paid, then cash out against GGG.

Anybody who follows boxing knows Solomon fears no one. This fight is a well deserved payday and if he keeps winning a Golovkin fight could come next fight or the one after.

    Soliman on points for me.
