Sam was pretty good, won lots of aussie titles. But unless its a boxing match, Sammy gets flogged, he has been out of Muay Thai way too long to test Par.

Sorry I should add, I've heard it would be in a boxing bout, not mauy thai. From memory I think JWP has had a few boxing bouts? Can anybody confirm this? Personally, I'd be pretty interested to watch this fight.

Parr won like ten boxing matches, maybe got a top 50 world rating.

he was a non stop puncher who could take a good shot. not a lot of head movement and always stayed with straight left and rights.

Parr would beat sam on points if he had the right time to train for the fight imo.

    Sweet, cheers Marcus.

I think it would be a pretty good fight for both guys and would sell quite well also considering both codes would be behind it.

JWP fought Bika for the Australian title I think it was. He's fought some decent boxers in his short career. I give him a punchers chance against Soliman, but in a boxing match I think Sams style gives him fits and he wins a wide unanimous decision.

Hmmmm.... Might be a very difficult fight for both men. Sams record is nothing short of astounding in am. boxing, pro. boxing and kick boxing. His proffessional record is a 'who`s who' of the international circuit. Clearly JWP is a dynamo and well recieved by many. With any luck, this may be a bout we see in the not too distant. My money will be on Soliman.

Parr's pro boxing record is pretty respectable at 10 wins (all by KO) and 3 losses. The losses were to Nader Hamden, Ian McLeod & Sakio Bika, and they all went the distance - so nothing to be ashamed of there.

In Paul Briggs book he described JWP as like a brother to him, so they were never going to go head-to-head, though they did spar together.

As Parr hasn't straight boxed for 5 years, I reckon Sammy would eat him. However, Sammy hasn't competed in kick for yonks either, so in that format I
    think JWP would dominate him.

Would be a bout of interest if it was to come about.

From that I take it he can really box then HURICN. I, for one, have probably underated his hand skills.

he outworked and landed more punches than hamden, fight was Parrs for sure.

he has been robbed twice in title fights and lost his respect for boxing a little after that, love to see him take on sammy.

JWP is a facebook friend of mine ..... ha ha , im a big fan!! and he answered my msg to him, nice honest guy and has done Muay thai lots of good in Oz

Just watching John Wayne's hand skills in kickboxing, he would currently clean up the middleweight division imo. Although he never strays far from the left right, in his fight against Soren he let the whole arsenal fly and it was quite impressive. would back him against any domestic level middle but Soliman might be a little too much for him.

Probably the best boxing KO ive seen on Australian shores belongs to JWP. When he iced Mike Cope a few years back with a beauty of a short left.

I think he would struggle but Sam may well be on the way out, Parr is certainly a punchers chance.
Would be a good spectacle but to jump straight into the boxing ring especially against someone like Sam is a hard ask.
Like Dawson I think JWP gets a little confused when he cant use his feet, knees and elbows. His options are a bit more limited in the boxing ring.

I think Sam Soliman would win this fight on a close decision...its a interesting matchup that would be have 2 very different styles.
