I'd say its close power wise. But hes certainly fitter and more skilled and I think he will hit Concepion a hell of a lot more than Hammond

Weren't a bad night...can't complain..didn't have to pay a thing. The Arthur fight wasn't to my taste, very bitty and niggly but glad he won he wanted it more IMHO. While the fight was going on i met Jimmy Gill, Lovely fella must say, sat next to me and he spoke about Jason Booth. Said he broke hand in the 4th round against Molitor and that's why he declined as the fight wore on. Jimmy said about pulling out but Jason said no it's my only shot at a world title. Looks likely that Arthur won't be holding the belt to long....2 Smooth fancies ruling the Commonwealth again. (Arthur's 1st defence) Webb boxed nicely and i think done what he had to tonight, i believe he could of secured the knockout earlier, round 5 i think he hurt Concepcion but never knew because he seemed cautious, i was sat right behind knockout, sweet shot, delayed reaction..all in slow mo. Martin tried but he clearly not at that level, There's talk of Webb going for EBU title, I dread to think what would happen against a Konecny. He does some nice things but i like to see him stay domestic level for now, build up some confidence. At times he got flustered and against a better opponent he he be under even better and more educated pressure. A good performance from Webb, but i think lad needs more wins to boost confidence, he does have some skills and a dig, like to see him believe more before stepping up. Big Shout Out To Colin Kenna, IMO won his fight against Damien Campbell tonight, the guys been a great asset to domestic heavyweight boxing in last 5 years and more and i think tonight he deserved the 'W'
I think Konecny would be a great fight for Webb in a few fights time. That guy is great if you stand right infront of him, but show him some footwork, a few angles? Not so much.
Yeah i get what you mean, i sat close to Webbs work, I think you summed it up...in a few fights time, the lad seems to lack confidence, he hurt Concepcion and didn't go for it, he seemed weary of power, i think he's growing into being champion, Saw him close eyes at one point when Concepcion had him on ropes. That's a major no no, He's got decent skills, and that ring was small!! so he did well but tbh he looked like he was working hard in there to box well. That's why i'm concerned when i read that they may go for Konecny next in EBU title shot. Concepcion really didn't have a clue..tbh. Good luck to lad he seems type of guy you like to see as champion.
Good stuff, Mandanda. :good Didn't see the whole of Webb/Concepcion, but i'll watch the parts i've missed tomorrow. Oh and you could've at least put a face to the name.
I was sat at ringside Slip, I'm gnna have a look at repeat to see if i'm on there, knowing my luck i will be in darkness or obstructed by the corner. I was sat all way at the back then my mate sorted me out with them kushti seats, Felt so much better being up close and personal, as well as sitting behind ring card girls, The blonde weren't my cup of tea but the Brunette :hey.
Watched the replay, You can see me during the Webb fight, wearing knitted jumper near corner, cropped head. Anyways just wanted to shower some praise for Webb (watched it back on tv), very very classy display, i walked away last night impressed but believing he struggle at higher level, i think that was harsh of me, i think he lacks confidence and shouldn't fight Konecny for a while, get some more defences of his title under belt and enjoy being champion. Could Webb beat Konecny in his next bout.....i think he can win rounds..not sure he could see the job out because he needs doesn't punch all the time with ''intent'' but when he did boy he picked that shot beautifully. He showed he's not just a pressure fighter, Concepcion boxed ok but just felt short of level required, seeing the fight up close you see things so differently to the tv at times. Reactions to punches etc. It's a real insight but i feel Webb can reign as British champion for a while, improved and seems keen on improving more and more.
Did you manage to see any of Joe Hughes Mandana? 20 year old ABA champ from this year had a 6 rounder on his debut.
Yeah saw last two rounds of Hughes, His fans were there in force, ripped torso and looks the part but was not impressed tbh, lot of his punches never landed from what i saw and he didn't show anything special on way to a points win, felt Carr deserved the last round tbh. Hughes kept trying to use the jab and Hollywood punches, never put shots together. First fight..i would say that hopefully he learns the fundamentals fast! if he wants a successful domestic career. Very short arms aswell....another Tyson-Esque fighter not using the Tyson (Under Rooney) blueprint. Edit:He's only 19....hopefully he will settle down.
