Sam Webb vs. Prince Arron & Tom Dallas vs. Zack Page RBR

Round 2

Arron lets his jab hang over the ducking Webb's head. Not much attempt by Arron to bend himself down and get at Webb's level to land any power punches. Webb is safe as long as he's on that low plane. Webb circles around the ring alternating directions a bit and pot shotting at the straight and tall target but not reaching him much. Good up-jab by Webb, claps loudly on Arron's chin. Webb is winding his way in to the left now, hooking up high as he comes. Arron is committed to living or dying by his old reliable jab, letting it stick out straight wherever he's expecting Webb's head to pop up. Arron is missing quite a lot even just throwing the jab. Good flurry by Webb, getting inside. Arron tries to hold and Webb clubs him behind the head with a right. Arron starts to walk him into a corner but holds back, looking tentative. Webb turns his left side to Arron and crabs into him, forcing a pair of jabs into his face.

Round 3

Webb is dancing around Arron on the inside, being a daredevil and landing quick pairs of high jabs while flapping around like a flag in a sea breeze. Arron can't time his rhythms and is looking lost. Webb catches an Arron jab in his right palm and then comes right back inside to start flurrying. Arron is pushed up on the ropes and tries to fight Webb off unsuccessfully.

Round 4

Webb is making Arron miss, but not throwing as much of his own now for the first minute or so. Arron is dutifully trying to line him up with his 1-2 but failing to catch anything but air and glove. Webb finally pops him with a clapping couplet and grins. Webb is pulling himself down to either side on puppet strings, disallowing Arron a canvas to jab against. Arron landed all of one solid shot all round.

Round 5

ARRON HURTS HIM WITH A RIGHT EARLY!!! Webb is on spaghetti legs. Arron pounds him into the ropes and Webb falls!!! Webb gets up and puts on a high guard. Arron flails away at it. Webb backs him off with a hard overhand right of his own. Arron comes right back! HARD UPPERCUT BY ARRON, under the guard! Arron landing big stuff!! Webb is laid up on the ropes looking to be in big trouble!! They trade shots, and Webb tries to step off the ropes. His knees buckle on their own!! Arron comes back and lays some leather on him!! Webb down again!! Up again!! Uppercuts from Arron!! Webb again on the ropes, leaning back. Webb has his arms up and otherwise looks dead in the water. Arron just stands and watches him, whipping a few right hands around the side. Webb backs him off with some hard shots out of his guard and then ties up. Clubbing right by Arron hits the arms of Webb but makes him wince nonetheless. Webb is clubbed across the ring. They trade together!! Webb's legs still look liquefied!! Webb is knocked back into the ropes. HARD overhand right by Webb, surging off the ropes. Webb hurts Arron just before the bell!!!

Round 6

Webb is gunning hard, hooking Arron into the ropes. Arron shakes his head at him, smirking. Webb is hooking hard to the head and body. Arron misses his jab. Web circles right, accidentally stepping into a jab. Arron is now taking his own lateral steps instead of waiting for Webb to move and then reacting. Webb is hooking to the body. Hard right above the belt now. Arron backs up and flicks out his jab. Webb does not look like someone who was just in danger of getting KTFO. Webb is the aggressor and is landing very well, pushing Arron to the ropes with a high 1-2 and then digging to the body again. Arron lands an uppercut and left hook as Webb keeps coming forward. Webb dances around and lands a solid left-right to the body. Nice hard jabs up top by Webb, backing Arron into a corner.

Round 7

Webb is sliding off to his left and looking to land high hooking jabs to get in, but not having success. Arron is catching him with both hands, just flashing them out into Webb's path and exploiting the reach disadvantage. Webb seems to have lost some steam and his legs aren't carrying him inside as forcefully. Good stiff jab by Arron, and he follows up with a crushing 1-2. Webb is pushed to the ropes but stands up to it. Webb has a little shake in his step now, but is trying to plant his own right hand on Arron.

66-65 Webb

 

Round 8

Arron is using his own movements, creeping from side to side and landing his jab and some long rights. Webb is ineffective now in closing the distance with his own more erratic and circular movements, and is only really getting inside to clinch rather than land anything. Arron is catching him underneath his arms and pushing him down. On the outside after breaks Arron is landing his jab fairly well as Webb's feet and head movement have both slowed down considerably. Good right by Arron. Webb finally lands one of his high hooks stepping in and to the left. Arron puts his arms up to catch an ongoing volley by Webb and tries to shove him off. Webb doesn't land much but does throw nonstop for the last fifteen seconds.

75 apiece.

 

Round 9

Webb again dropped early in the round as Arron throws a right hand on the break! The referee rules it not to be a KD. Webb is shaken up, though. Webb flurries and circles wide. Arron looks to line up his 1-2 and Webb steps inside to land a hard roman candle right hand to the chin. Arron smacks him with the left before Webb can get outside. Arron keeps the pressure on, and hurts Webb. The champion holds and looks hurt. Webb hooks to the body and holds some more. High guard by Webb. Arron tries to smash through it with his right. Webb hooks him off momentarily. Both throw wide and miss. Arron starts to line up his jab again and gets Webb on the ropes. High hooking from Webb while backing up.

10-9 Arron - maybe ought to have been 10-8. That looked like it could have been ruled a knockdown.

85-84 Arron, ahead for the first time on my card heading into the championship rounds with Webb looking fragile.

 

Round 10

Arron is jabbing across Webb's forehead, finding him pretty easily now and setting up his right hands. Webb is caught and hurt a few times but keeps working his way in, dancing around and getting back to his waving-flag motions from the earlier rounds (but in slow motion). Arron is jabbing him back outside before Webb can get any work done while buzzing around him. Webb steps inside and eats a stunted 1-2 as they clasp together briefly. Arron takes a hop to the side to cut Webb off and gets grabbed.
