Inspired by the Barney Ross v modern welters thread: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...urrent-welterweights-beat-barney-ross.623160/ What do you think has been the historical impact of the change from same-day to day-before weigh ins? If day-before weigh ins were in place from the start, which great fighter's legacies would be most impacted? If same-day weigh ins were still in place today, would the same fighters rise to the top? Or do you think that great fighters would succeed regardless of the different weigh-in rules? Note this is a non-heavyweight thread as the subject has been done to death in terms of great modern v great past heavyweights. Plus, heavyweight has no upper limit so I'm only talking about other weight classes with a defined weight limit here.
Similar thread idea: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/world-champs-that-were-nothing-but-weight-bullies.623199/ But thinking specifically about the positive or negative impact on fighters' legacies here.
