Question for the old timers. In the days of the same day weigh-ins... how much do you think guys gained on average before fight night? I.E. guys like Lamotta, Duran, and Hearns... how much weight do you think these guys, and others put on between the day weigh-in and the fight?

No where like they do now I really think they should go back to the same day weight in. I see the arguments as far as having to be dehyrated the day of the fight but I think the weight advantages can far outweight the dehydration. This weekend for example I wouldn't be surprised if Margarito once rehydrated doesn't get upto 160. That's a middleweight for crying out loud. and If i remember right Joey Gamache took a horrible beating from Gatti who had put on a signifiacant amount of weight from weigh in to fight time. Just my opinion

same day weigh ins should definitly brought back.

fighters today are getting into weights that they could never fight in and putting on a stone on fight nioght and having a huge weight advantage. Whereas a same day weigh in would eliminate it and fighters would be of more equal weight

Once they weighed in at the ring.
    I favor that.
