One thing I noticed about Pacquiao is his very wide stance, he uses his legs to dash in & out. he couldn't do that against JMM as often because Juan would slide back and cause Manny to throw punches off balance (Reach). Then promptly get countered with either a lead hook or a straight right hand down the middle. Also the jab made Manny reset. Easier said than done tho... Hatton just didn't/Don't have the tools to accomplish that.
Hatton's style put him at a disadvantage, his punch resistance was already a major issue, and then to make matters worse, he fought with probably the worst gameplan and nerves I've seen in a big fight in years. Pacquiao fans get angry when these points get highlighted, but they are just facts.
I'm a Pac fan and I'm not angry. IMO, the game plan was good. The big problem was that Hatton didn't stick to the game plan. Once he got hit, he reverted back to his old ways. Even FM sr. was pointing that out to him after the first round.
