A decent point but didn't SRL fight Sr. earlier in his career? If we are talking about a prime SRL, the one that beat Hearns in their first fight, then SRL beats Floyd Jr. convincingly.

Hearns is a far far harder stylistic match up from mayweather than leonard is. Almost to the stage where i'd say it's nigh on impossible for floyd to beat him

Leonard would batter Mayweather. This fight probably never gets to the scorecards.

Same thing. Way, way too big, fast and strong for Pacquiao.

What do you mean by, "same SIZE and weight"? Are we making Mayweather taller with a longer reach?

    Leonard 5'10" with a 74" reach.
    Mayweather 5'8" with a 72" reach.

The height and reach shouldn't be a big issue.

Leonard's highest weigh-in weight was 165Lbs. for his fight with Lalonde (for the WBC SMW and LHW belts). He later admitted to having weights in his pockets for the weigh-in. He weighed-in at 160 for his other SMW fights (Hearns II and Duran III). Leonard could have always made 154Lbs, even after 1987. He could have always made 147Lbs. before 1987.

Mayweather's highest weigh-in weight has been 150Lbs. vs. DeLaHoya.

    The fight-

Both men are fast, elusive, accurate, well conditioned, durable, and very smart fighters.

Leonard is stronger and has more power in both hands. I also feel that Leonard was faster with his hands and his feet. Leonard could cut the ring off well and was a good finisher when he had his man hurt.

I see Mayweather having his moments (he really wants to avenge his Daddy's 10th round KO loss to Leonard) but in the end I see Leonard winning decisively, maybe even by late round stoppage.

Floyd Sr. fought Ray in 1978. Ray had been a pro for about a year and a half and was 13-0 (8KOs) going in. Floyd was almost 4 years into his pro career and was 15-1 (8KOs) going in. Floyd Sr. got beat pretty bad by Leonard. He was down twice in the 8th and stopped in the 10th. He gave Leonard no problems at all.

A prime Leonard was better than this!
