To hell with the fight... Rather see or hear people are ok. The news in Melbourne has only made mention of 2 Aussies dead... Not a word about the locals!!!!!

    Damn. :verysad

There's absolutely no way to have prepared for such a thing. It's just sheer unpreventable devastation.

It's a tradgey, some parts of the affected islands didn't have a working warning system apparently....
We had the warnings go out here, and some people actually took their kids to the beach to see the wave - not a look out, not an overlooking hill, but the actual beach..... natural selection at work....
But so sad for those poor souls in Samoa

Same thing happened in Oz. :patsch I would never **** with this ****...Water is very dangerous when its moving like that.

Just heard from my Samoan mate...He said his family is on the other side of the island and sounds like they are all safe. But he thinks some of his distance cousins could have been affected as they worked in the area that got hit.

My other mate...who is really just an acquaintance..sounds like his family wasnt so lucky. The mate I know whom through says 2 of his nephews are confirmed dead, half the village has been ****ed up and several are missing.

Very, very sad..And now we got this quake in Indo. Makes me remember why we calls this place the Lucky country.

Good to hear your mates family sound like they're OK. Sorry bout the others.
I know what you mean about not ****ing with it. The predicted wave here in Wellington was 40cm - people thought it was nothing lets go see - they dont realise that these waves can be kilometers in length and it just keeps rolling in.
