http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8YpAXju2FY anyone else remember watching this exciting Samoan with fast hands ply his trade on USA Tuesday Night Fights. At the time I always just considered him an exciting journeyman type, but watching this fight now, against a prime Golota, this guy could have probably beaten half of today's heavyweight top 10! ha! Whatever happened to this guy???
After losing to Golata, he kinda layed low for a couple of years, then somehow HBO noticed him. They had him, I believe, fight Jesse Ferguson. Ferguson stopped him. I think Po'uha could have been more than he was. He had good hand speed and decent power, but a somewhat fragile chin.
lol, watching this video Sean O'Grady is making some funny claims. Says Po'uha's power comes from his size 14 feet. Claims that they give him more traction, lol. He also said that big fight = good chin and that guys who can't take good punches all have round heels, lol. Good old O'Grady.
Pouha's big problem was his dedication to the sport. He almost NEVER came into a fight in shape. Kind of like Tua, only much worse. There was a time when I thought he and Tua were the future of the HW division. Tua did much better, of course, but both were, to different degrees disappontments. If Pouha had dedicated himself to the sport, he probably could have been a decent contender, maybe even a beltholder. Problem was, he didn't seem to want to put in the work.
