I think quite a few heavyweights ranked in the top twenty would have their hands full facing Suslenkov on foreign soil; and if Hunter was winning notable fights then he would be a talent realised, rather than a wasted talent

Artem reminds me a bit of John Ruiz, in terms of style, effectiveness/ Also, in terms of my desire to see him get utterly decimated.

Horrible scrappy affair which was ruined by lots of holding but Suslenkov was a clear winner. Someone posted a bunch of Suslenkov's amateur fights on here a few years ago and he was knocking his opponents dead in HL reel fashion, like folding them putting them to sleep with single right hands and left hooks, so I knew he was a massive puncher and very explosive. But I thought this was a strange fight for his team to take given Hunter's vast experience campaigning at a far higher level amateur and pro against the elite and also because Hunter is high risk relatively low reward opponent for the top guys to take on and has been avoided. But Suslenkov's team got it right.

Feel bad for Hunter because his career in recent years has really stagnated albeit he's partly to blame for that. He should be mixing with the top 10 not taking on dangerous big punching 10 fight novices.

It was a dumb fight for both Suslenko and Hunter to take on paper. For Suslenko because he's a 10 fight novice who had blown out most of his opponents early, had never been 10 rounds before, and because Hunter is vastly more experienced and a talented and teak-tough avoided dangerman

And for Hunter because Suslenko is a very explosive big punching prospect who he had little to gain from beating but an awful lot to lose for losing to him and it was on foreign shores too. Now he's slid right down to the bottom of the ladder

Why fight a 10 fight prospect who can punch like this when you're world level and have so much to lose if they beat you?

Hopefully this lose reignites Hunter's hunger to do something with his career. For someone who gave a valiant effort against Usyk to lose in a random, quasi-pro fight in Uzbekistan is rather anti-climatic.

Yea, once one goes down this path, there is no returning. There have been quite a few former top contenders and even champions who started traveling to Russia and nearby countries, never to regain their former glory.

Yeah, I'm at work so was only half watching, but it looked pretty competitive from start to finish.

Thank you, Scotty Cork! I am sorry I missed this. I was away from home. And thank you to CST80 for including me in the "clarion roll-call!" That is much appreciated! :)

What on earth has Hunter done to his career?

At one stage he was on the verge of life changing money and now relegated to opponent

Sad to see, and he has clearly given up

Speaking of Quasi-pro, its not on boxrec. Does this even count?
