It's a shame really because he dedicated himself well for the Klitschko rematch but I think he saw that as his final opportunity. Even if he does beat Helenius I'm not too sure where he would go. He's already been champion and to come in at 260 shows that he may have resigned himself to some sort of gatekeeper. I hope he does well here, but I doubt it.
of all the fighters i have been around, peter is by far the laziest. he is a nice enough guy, but he has a severe lack of dedication to training. he only trains 1 day a week or so. its sad to see him waste his talent
I think you may be right, and when that went so badly he might just not be so bothered anymore. The Peter that easily outpointed Toney in their rematch really seemed to be starting to develop his actual skills, rather than just clubbing guys out. But since then, instead, it's been back to the clubbing instead with yo-yo weight...it's been a shame. I don't think Peter has lived up to his possible potential, deep down I don't know if he really wanted to make that extra step enough.
He falls over and injures himself for no reason and then claims that Helenius is a zero and that he would have easily won if he had not fallen over and injured himslef for no reason, as his fans loudly declare that he won the event and Peter yells "Who necks?" from a hospital bed. Hard to believe boxing has actually come to this.
He's obviously come to collect the money, which is a shame as a motivated Peter would have had a real shot at winning. Does anyone know Helenius's weight?
This is a big opportunity for Helenius. If he can't take advantage of this, then he probably won't cut it at the top level. 260lbs is way too heavy for Peter...
