Based on the interview below, he seems only half serious to me with the smiling and laughing. And surely he knows that there’s no way he would be immediately jumping into a title shot first fight back. This content is protected This content is protected
To bad he didn't fight Chisora ten years ago it could have been a good fight even though I think Peter would have beaten him...
Eddie Hearns will be on the phone. LOVES a shot to pieces old name fighter to feed to his house heavies.
peter seems like a nice guy, had a brief moment in the sun as the WBC champ and had pretty good power unfortunately he never seemed to really get back to form after the Vitali fight and he took a lot of punishment before going on to get stopped several more times Its nice to see him looking in decent shape and sounding good in the interviews. I know the exhibition scene is generating money for a retired fighters circuit which I hope is the direction he goes in. I would hate to see the guy get hurt trying to make an ill fated come back
May as well, heavyweight division sucks balls at the moment with none of the belt holders fighting each other
He's one of those guys where it wouldn't be a comeback. He pops in every few years to lose a couple for money, then goes back to Nigeria to buy his candy bars and potato chips. It's not a comeback, it is just time. The good news is he may very well be Tyson Fury's next opponent.
Peter had a very short prime, but during that prime I'd pick him against a lot of today's lot in a heartbeat. He had legit wrecking balls for fists, the type of puncher that makes shotgun sounds every time he lands, and rocks people with glancing arm punches.
Personally I never liked the guy. I'd put down 10 grand for a chance to get into the ring with the guy. If any Sam Peter representitives are out there and are interested in 10k and what should be some very cheap cannon fodder then I'm your chump.
