I think Peter's confidence will have been shaken by the McCline fight, he will be in shape, but he will not attempt to blow Maskaev out, and if he does, he will balk when he is initially outboxed, however, I think his youth and activity allow him to win a fairly comfortable decision

Maskaev will be ready imo. He will use his experience to his advantage. Maskaev will fight smartly and try to outpoint the Nigerian. He will try to keep distance and fight smarty...

Peter will try to KO him. Chance of him doing it are up there, but I don't think he will imo.

Maskaev might get KD'd once or so,thats how I see it, but I see him comming back and winning the fight on points. Maskaev is underrated on this forum basically becouse everyone rips on his lack of a chin, which is true....but Peter's chin ain't to great either. Its good but not iron like everyone here on this site expected before the McCline fight. There also is a chance Maskaev might KD him, if McCline could do it, damn sure Maskaev can. But I don't see that happening either.

Experience wins this fight. iv'e been saying before the McCline fight that Peter will lose to Maskaev....

I also think that the long layoff aka ring rust will also play a bad factor for Maskaev, but my confidence for Maskaev is still high.

As I been saying for awhile now, and under careful viewing of both Sam Peters and Maskaevs most recent fights, I have come up golden plan to win. He needs to come out the gate looking for that one big overhand right early, a punch Rahman landed early in there second fight. If Peter fails to get him out in the 1st round round he needs to settle down and stick with his powerful jab, and going to the body of the ring rusted champ.

As the middle to late rounds approach, he should mount another huge attack and attempt to get him out to make a statement to the public, that the "Nigerian Nighmare" is back and when properly trained is a monster for anyone who steps in the ring with him.

 

If Sam comes in shape, mid round KO. I voted by UD though :yep :bbb

 

I will do an avatar bet with anyone that thinks this fight will go to a decision, it wont. Maskaev is more and likely going to be the recipient of a an early to mid round brutal knockout, Sam Peter said on another boxing site, " When I'm fully prepared for a fight, my power is so dangerous and lethal, sometimes I get scared when a throw a punch as hard as I can, for fear of my oppenent never waking up". I would be very afraid if I was Maskaev, I think Peter going for the kill early in this fight.

Peter is overated.
He is light on skill and questionable chin.
He is also quite slow and chubby.
Got a gift decision over Mcline who is also pretty slow.
Sorry -- but Maskaev beats him easy.

 

Maskaev doesn't have McCline's physical advantages -his size- and Peter will be more careful this time.

But I venture to say that Maskaev has more power than McCline, and Maskaev will watch and study the Peter Mccine fight, and will know what is effective against Peter.
