Peter has an iron head and maskaev has not the power, not the skill and not the speed of a Klitschko to hurt Peter. Peter can be only hurt by punches that he doesnt see come.

Peter Vs. McCall would be awesome, McCall might actually Knock Peter out, no way Peter knocks out McCall.

I don't think its a certainty that its off, but from the sound of it, it seems to be doubtful, but who knows.

I think Peter and Virchis would be a great fight, but why are they wanting to put Peter in an eliminator with the highest ranked contender, when they've already told McCall that he's a mandatory for that title? Why not make good on the promise to McCall and go ahead and put him in there against Peter? Afterall, he was promised a titleshot, and they are needing someone deserving to fight Peter for the vacated title, right?

Peter vs. McCall not only pits two deserving WBC ranked fighters against each other, it also makes good on the promise to McCall that he's gonna get a titleshot.........and gets that out of the way, clearing the way for the winner to fight yet another fighter who has been promised a titleshot, Vitali. Peter McCall is what they should do, if Oleg don't fight Peter. It would help clean up this backlog of mandatories they have lined up.

But I guess that makes too much sense.

I think it is $$$$$$$$$$$, I don't blame him either, he should be getting the normal 70/30 split. He would make much more against Wlad or Vitali.

The WBC will be tied up for quite a while--long enough for Klitschko or the Ibragimov/Chagaev winner to pick up the rest of the belts. First Maskaev's vacating (will he also get emeritus status? :nut), then Peter-Virchis, then Peter/Virchis-Vitali, then Peter/Virchis/Vitali-McCall.

For some reason, I would not be surpirsed if wbc awarded Maskaev an emeritus status.

The WBC will disqualify itself from unification for the next decade or so at this rate.

Actualy, I really hope that somebody can sue them into oblivion so we have less straps to deal with.

Suliaman granting yet another mandatory status to McCall, when he's already got enough mandatories to deal with (two, and counting, backed up), makes one question that guy's reasoning.

Maybe he sees bukoo sanctioning fee possibilities, and not much else.

HBO and Showtime should each buy out one or two of the three historically major belts (WBA, IBF, WBC) and refuse to show any fights other than those that involve these three belts. Once in a while, they could work out a unification. The title will be much safer when the guys controlling the programming (unification is in their best interests) are running the show.

Maskaev has 3 madatory challengers, and it maybe Virchis who fights for the vacant title. What a messed up situation!!!

Virchis is much like Sam Peter, a crude heavy hitter. Virchis very well could win this fight. He can punch big time, and Peter doesnt bother much for defense, but at the same time, the same could happen to Virchis.

Right. As screwed up as giving Virchis the shot at the vacated title is, I'd still love to see Peter and Virchis go at it.

Two very crude and powerful neanderthals, flailing away at each other. :good
