Well they both for Maskaev and Peter had a much easier time. Tua was lucky Maskaev gassed as he was up on points. Tua could win early, but when I look at the boxers he faced that went past a few rounds, he struggled vs Byrd, Lewis, Maskeav, and Rhaman. A Peter UD is not out of the question. Peter had a decent jab and skills. Enough to win decisions over Toney and McCline for example.
Peter. He's durable to take what Tua can dish out plus he hits very hard himself, also he's more versatile. Peter UD.
Tia struggled with far less quality opposition. He arguably lost to Jeff Wooden, got lucky against Izon, Maskaev, Rahman twice. Tia whilst exciting on his day is massively overrated.
So he got lucky in four separate fights huh. At what point does one stop calling it luck and start calling it ability?
Ability to close the show when you are way behind maybe. Wooden was 17-5 And lost a very close MD that could have gone either way. Rahman was hit late in the 9th after the bell and he won the rematch easily only to be robbed on the cards. Against Is in and Maskaev it was hanging on the round it finished as who would win iirc.
Don't think they could've fought as David was battling in court with his former trainer/manager and a part-timer for most of Peter's short relevancy in the division. Prime for prime (1996 Tua vs 2005-08 Peter) I go with Tua by late stoppage.
