This is a translation of what Peter said in his native language, Ibibio. Enjoy! ---------------------------------------- I would like to greet all of you. I am very happy to be here in Berlin, you know. Because last time I was here, everybody spoke their own language and I can speak my own language too. So let me speak in my own language. So when I come here, I get received very well and make me comfortable at Freiburg in Black Forest where I train. So my training has been going well and I am ready to go. I want to thank Jose Suleiman very much for being a good President. I thank my promoter Dino Duva and my manager Ivaylo Gotev. Well, this will be a very very nice fight. It will be a great fight but I would like to ask that everybody come early. And when you get there early, you will see a great fight. Thank you very much.
Hey Suge...thanks for letting me debate boxing with you. You have a lot of good points on James Toney and Sam Peter...it is making the fight quite a bit more interesting. I guess this is the entire point of the forums!! Thanks, again!!
Over the last few years, with the growing popularity of MMA, the promoters and the networks have really stepped up and offered the fight fans great fight cards. The past 3 years have been awesome on both networks. This year on HBO, we still have Pavlik/Hopkins, Calzaghe/Jones, Lacy/Taylor, Hatton/Malignaggi, P Will and Chris Arreola on the same card, De la Hoya/ Pac man, and finally W Klitschko/Sasha Povetkin ON Showtime we still have Dawson/ Tarver, Peter/ Klitschko, Bute/Andrade, Mijares/Darchinyan in my opinion, both networks are really stepping up to entertain the fight public!!
While I agree both networks have good fights...HBO presents theirs only within the context of their agenda...and what' s good for their fighters. Their commentators while highly skilled, are even moreso biased...
No more biased than Bernstein...during the Vitali/ Peter fight, mark my words, he will be all over Sam Peters nuts!!
It wouldn't be reflective of an agenda if he is...just his opinion...there are no Showtime fighters. They don't sign fighters to multi-fight deals...so they can present bouts in a way that doesn't begin and end with them, in the greater interest of boxing as a whole...
Thank you for translation. :good Wladimir always respects his opponents. I am very disappointed how Vitali reacts to Peter. Samuel is the WBC Champion and people should respect him. Grabbing the belt like a child, i cannot believe that Vitali did it this way. But Samuel grabs his belt with power and i think he will show the same power at saturday. Can Vitali take this power? I believe not, not after 4 years lay off. Than i hope that Samuel stay to his word and we will see the fight boxing fans wants to see: Wladimir vs. Peter 2 for the WBC/IBF/WBO/IBO belt next year.
I didn't say Bernstein's opinion was reflective of the network, I just pointed out that he is a biased nuthugger and always comes into a fight with a personal agenda. My point is that Showtime's commentary is no better than HBO's. I agree that HBO makes their commentators pull out the pom poms, but I don't have a serious problem with it...it doesn't change the outcome of the fight.
I looking foward to the brothers dream, that vitali an wlad with both be champs at the same time, come saturday night history will be made,,,thank god
