I would love to see Haye 'tested' at heavyweight by fighting Peter first. :yep

After either Vitali, JC Gomez or Virchis has beaten Peter he can be used by Haye as a warm up...

Yeah, that sounds like an extremely well thought out, fair and balanced argument. Haye's 2nd fight at Heavyweight after his previous 2 fights being at Cruiser, should immediately fight a top 5 Heavyweight. That would be some test.

I think Haye is ready to fight the main guys- if hes not ready now he will never be.

Exactly. He obviously has some athletic ability/boxing ability, so why not? If he's as good as everyone says he is, then he should be contending right away. What better test than Peter?

Peter vs Haye. Then the winner fights Wlad. :yep

Peter has to fight Vitiali, if he get through him he will have 2 mandatoys and judging on Don Kings previous they will be agaisnt absolute nobodys that are King fighters. (although Golota would be good) Then Peter will have a mandatory agaisnt the winner of Virchs and Gomez, then have 2 more mandatorys, then Haye will be in line..................basicly Peter vs Haye will never happen.

And if it did Haye is way to fast for peter, would be over in 3.

I think Haye would shred Peter unless he stands still and lets Peter man-handle him.

That, in my mind would be all that it would take. We know Peter has a solid chin. What would happen when Sam gets rough on Haye? :yep

People can accuse Peter of having dodgy stamina, but Haye has horrible stamina - and what happens with extra muscle mass?

I am sure Haye has the ability to out-box Peter for a few rounds, but Haye will get cocky/lazy and WILL have a nice shot land on him via Peter. What happens? It's good night for Haye.

Haye's stamina is fine nowadays, as is his chin. All of this is based on him naïvely punching himself out and getting stopped for tiredness, not damage, several years ago, against an excellent and very experienced -albeit old- fighter.

As for Peter, his chin is good, but he got knocked down a few times by Jameel McCline, with 23/38 KOs= 61%. Haye went down (from a slip as far as I could see) against a far superior unified champion with 22/33 KOs = 67%. He did, though, also go down against Lolenga Mock, with 12/27 KOs = 44%, so I'd be prepared to say Peter is probably more durable.

I think the bigger problems for Haye to beat Peter are two-fold:

    1) Peter always punches around the back of the head, which is extremely dangerous to anyone. Never mind their chin, because Peter isn't hitting it! For that reason, until refs start controlling him (not likely with Don King in charge of his promotions), then I wouldn't favour anyone fighting him. It's a shame, because he clearly has some talent, but he's a danger in the ring not so much because of talent, but because he punches illegally.

    2) Haye's knockouts often come from straight rights followed by hooks. Taking the Klitschko-Peter and the McCline-Peter fights together, I would suggest that Peter's slightly hunched stance seems to protect him very well against even very powerful straight rights; and that the uppercut and other inside-work might be the better way to hurt him. Haye's speciality seems to match to Peter's strength, not to his vulnerability.

Still, I'd pick Haye over Peter, because he's so fast, and so accurate, and has such good reflexes. It was an absolute joy to behold the way he repeatedly pulled his head back a whisker away from the extent of Maccarinelli's jab, and then leaned in again, knowing his movement was just too good for Maccarinelli's hands. Peter's hands are glacial in comparison.

I am not completely sold on Haye vs the top heavies, but I can say with a lot of confidence he could beat Peter. Maybe by KO, not sure how good Peter's chin is, but mark my words he would taste every shot David can throw. Far too slow and crude to beat Haye, who has good movement, great handspeed and accuracy, and is Seb Coe compared to Peter when assessing their respective stamina.

James Toney was twice the cruiser Haye will ever be. If Sammy could deal with JT's defensive movement and speed he'll crush Haye easily.

Look at the guy's neck. Speaking of Haye. That is not a neck that cannot be cracked. Sam will straight **** him up. No doubt in my mind.

ha ha ha ha hah a yeah right a f**kin bloated ex middleweight oh my sweet jesus there is some right shite talked on here. I loved Toney especially at SMW but at cruiser he was not " all that " the Jirov fight was spectacular but a lot of that was down to styles . Jirov was the perfect foil.

As for " the foul punch" machine Sam Peter he would be puffing panting and on his arse by round 6 against a HW Haye. Oh the european domination will continue !
