much of what you say is true. But, he ain't tall for a hw. Also, he looked pretty fit (for him) against aguilerra and powerful (looked about the same as ever)
Even if Peter has improved, Wlad has also improved just as much, if not more than their last meeting.. you said it yourself, peter has no chance
Sorry, but you don't know WTF talent is. Peter is bereft of all boxing fundamentals, especially how to throw a proper punch. A guy like Arreola has more talent. IMO Peter is an over achiever.
i know he has no chance. but considering the fight HAS to happen, i can atleast hope it will be worth watching :good
I like to see another sam vs wlad rematch, but i know Wlad's gonna do the business this time. The nigerian nightmare's got go all out in the first few rounds, to have any chance of pulling off the upset...
I don't think you know what your talking about. Fundamentals are taught... they are not based on natural talent. So if Peter is 'bereft of boxing fundamentals' then it's because he isn't being taught them. He has the natural athleticism.. speed, power and he seemed well co ordinated. That is natural sporting talent. I am sure your going to disagree. But to each their own.
Sam Peter is not a bad fighter. He has improved alot with his head movement and his jab. He beats everone --- except the Klitcho's. Thats a big step, but its a title shot and you get paid.
Vitali is better. If you match Vitali up against all the old ATG, he does better than Wlad. Not because he's sharper or more powerful but because he will hang around in a tough fight and his size makes a huge difference. Wladimir does just about everything better except last in a tough fight. And all the old ATGs would give him a tough fight. As proven historically, Wladimir does FAR better against cautious guys who stay on the end of his jab. With Vitali it doesn't matter. He's going to brawl with you until one of you drop which basically means you either outbox the 6'7" brawler or you lose. For Sam to win this fight he's gotta go way back and take a page out of Lamon Brewster's performance against Andrew Golota. That won't happen. What we'll see is a guy who half slips and comes up at the wrong time. He's just not cut for the champ slot. He has all the physical tools but a serious lack of skill which hampers him. Wladimir is beatable. It just can't be done by a guy who stands straight up and doesn't press him.
If Peter jabs his way in unlike the first fight he has a better chance to land the big punch he unlike any oppnents of late can get Wlad out of his comfort zone and rythm
I don't see Peter as a *waste of talent*. 265 pounds or 240 pounds..............regardess, I just don't think he *has it* to be a world class heavyweight fighter, and never will. Even if he had Manny Steward training him. As I see it, he is too cumbersome and limited in his hands. Has **** poor waist movement, with which to get outta the way of shots. A good stiff jab fired in his face, and it is impossible for him to bob and weave away from. Its like hitting a tree........ But to his credit, he does have one hell of a punch tolerance, again, like a tree.....LOL Wlad is a machine these days, and he knocks Peter out, this time. Not a stoppage, but a clean knock OUT. Trees can, and do, fall, given enough powerful chopping.
Ain't no way in ****ing hell Peter gets cleaned knocked out! You can't crack African Ivory! Watch the maskaev fight or the Toney fights and you will see bending at his hips and using good head movement,,hell just take a look at his last fight. People like you just make assumptions of Peter based on the one or two fights you have watched of him. BTW did you see his combo punching that ended his last fight???? Show me where Wlad threw combos like that
You certainly support your fighter, and we all respect that. :good As someone else said, I think Peter's best chance is to pull a *Brewster against Golota* and see if he can just overwhelm Wlad, as he wings powershots at his head. If he were to land and stun Wlad, and then follow up, he may get the job done. But if he can't swarm Wlad, and the Klitschko jab establishes and dictates the distance, and Peter starts to feel how damaging that jab, and hard straight right hand are, he'll be in a bad way and will get discouraged, as well as hurt. I predict a late round knock out. :good
