Making his comeback tomorrow (from an October loss to Dennis Hogan via MD12) in a non-televised middleweight 8-rounder as part of a dinner theater boxing card at some West Midlands sports bar. His opponent is James McCarthy ( This content is protected ), a 2-5-1 natural 160 pounder Scouse. Card itself isn't even on BR, and probably unwatchable save in person. Generally you don't see this massive a step down in class directly following a world title bid (even if only the IBO) except maybe in Thailand. If he doesn't net his first stoppage in years here (since Ashley Theophane in 2020), Eggs really must have a long hard look in the mirror and sort himself out.
I think it's fair enough and it is kind of in keeping with his whole mad idiom. He did want to be a journeyman after all! As long as he's right back out in May.
Wow, McCarthy just fought a couple of weeks ago. It's like the good old days of Reggie Strickland. BoxRec has Eggington fighting TBA. In fact TBA has four bouts on the card. I've always admired TBA's ability to go up and down in weight and even switch sexes when necessary.
I know it is Eggington and all, but FFS, why does his face seemingly suggest he went life & death with an absolute jabroni?
''Who would you like to see him in with next'' Hmm, dunno ....maybe the 21-11-1 Nathan Graham? This content is protected
