He got exactly what he wanted with Canelo coming forward and they just weren't prepared for that. He's not the only guy that had Canelo winning, you know.

Canelo won, you're a bunch of tinkerbells.

You guys cry so much I'm beginning to believe you believe your fighters are nothing more than pawns. If America and Mexico have all the power and take meaningful fights away at any point then why do they allow the good, holy, trustworthy, always follows the rules, Europeans to even take part in our biggest farces? Seems like we could have cheated 3G ages ago and built a Mexican-American vs Mexican confrontation out of it. How do you know 3G was even very good? Maybe America built him to make you feel good.

Ya know, since boxing is really just WWE and America is Vince.

Sanchez is making sure to cover his own ass so nobody criticizes him.

What's he going to say, "Ganady would have won had I prepared him better in camp and coached him better in the corner."?

Many trainers do this, right or wrong, when their man loses the fight.

Yep this. You could tell Sanchez wanted GGG to be more aggressive but until Canelo tired in the last 4 rounds he wasn't able to execute the game plan because he was getting backed up and beaten in close and so was forced to box.

I still think Golovkin won though, though not by much.

Canelo looked brilliant for the first 8 rounds, Toneyesque at times with his defence and aggressive countering. But like Toney his whole legacy has a question mark over it because of doping.

Easy to set the game plan as "hunt him down and take him out". Much harder to do it to a fighter who won't just let it happen. I think he tried to follow the game plan, it's just a little harder to actually do than to say.

What happen in the fight is generally what happens when you fight an elite fighter you’re gonna need more than 1 gameplan based on what your opponent gives you.. The problem with GGG and boxing in general is we never know how good guys really are until they fight an elite opponent but that rarely happens until that fighter might be past prime himself.. In hindsight when you look at GGG resume this only started happening as his opponents got better starting with Kell Brook who was clearly out of his weight class.. GGG didn’t look like such monster against Jacobs also whom if it wasn’t for the knockdown probably would have beat GGG more convincingly than Canelo.. The GGG of last night would have lost to all other top 6 MWs imo
