Chavez was not as technically sound at 130, though he was more active. I prefer the 135 and 140 versions of him over this younger, wilder version. Sanchez never actually fought at 126, but he had a good frame, and was in talks to fight Arguello for his 130 belt prior to dying so young. I'd say he performs just as well at 130, and it'd be a hell of a matchup. Sanchez was the better boxer, the better counter-punmcher, especially than the younger Chavez, as Chavez would grow to be a pretty good overall boxer, with an excellent straight left, and very good set up punches. Overall though, at 130, he wasn't as technically skilled, and Sanchez gets the better of him in a boxing match. In a brawl, it would be interesting, because Chavez was still a better inside fighter(though not a better puncher) than any of the guys Sanchez fought. I think Sanchez would have the troubles he had with a guy like Nelson, differences being Chavez wouldn't have been as effected by Sanchez's shots, and he wouldn't have faded down the stretch as badly. A Decision win either way is very plausible. Another thing though, 12 or 15 rounds? Both had exceptional stamina, but Chavez never fought 15.
