at 130 camacho is too smart, fast with hands and legs for pac-man and head to head with either sanchez or gomez i believe he'll be in trouble
actually i would pick sanchez, i'm just saying that i would not count pac out. sanchez has marquez' skills but also with more pop.
Pac by KO..Sanchez was easy to hit and loves to bang ...RIP but he became a legend after he died. Who did he beat?? Danny Red Lopez (a defenseless sluger)lol while he had a big heart his skills were average at best. Who else Gomez?..ok lets analyze this ..Gomez was a smaller man..who went up against Sal.. Can someone count how many wins Gomez had at 126??please amuse me..this guy was massacred as well by Nelson. The same Nelson who gave Sanchez all he could handle in only his 10th pro fight (a substutute for Gods sake). Had they remeatched when the Prof was at the peak of his powers..lets not go there Anyone saw Sanchez in his other title defenses??? you know the one other than Gomez? Like Pat Ford, Cowdell and Rocky Garcia..Have you seen his performances in those fights? Ill tell you it wasnt impressive. Dont get caught up with all this hype just because he died early...much respect but he aint Chavez
Th *******s couldn't resist. Can someone tell this guy who Gomez was, how many pounds he went up, who Azumah Nelson was and in what fashion he got beat. Thank you.
Is that your actual choice? Sanchez was not easy to hit. He fought to the level of his competition, and the greater the opposition the greater he performed. Watch his fights with Lopez compared to earlier bouts in his career like the Padilla bouts and another(can't think of it) and you'll see a much slicker, more skilled boxer. Much more capable of countering while not being hit than someone like Marquez. When he was far past his prime. Sanchez would've won easier in a rematch with a prime Nelson. Nelson's unrelenting pressure was the problem Sanchez faced in the first fight, as well as not taking this fight as seriously as he would a Wilfredo Gomez or Lopez. In a rematch prime for prime, a more controlled Nelson wouldn't have given Sanchez the same problem, and he's definitely not a better boxer than a fully motivated Chava. Bad style matchups, with a taller counter-puncher in Cowdell especially. Most of these fighters have their stylistic matchup problems. So why do you rate Pancho Villa so highly? You seem to base the bulk of Villa's greatness on his celebrity, but not his resume in comparison.
i already heard this argument from you way before. sanchez looks pretty amazing in his gomez fight. does he not look that great in his other fights as well? i'm asking this because i know you were able to catch his fights back then.
Hey this is a forum I respect your opinion...we agree to disagree..yes PAC by Ko was to amuse you and must you always go back to Pancho..different time and era
In a few early fights he didn't look as good, and in a few encounters late in his run against lesser opposition but difficult style matchups like Pat Cowdell. But normally against the best opposition he looked the best, and Pac seems to have no stylistic problems he'd offer Sanchez.
I caught some fights on Fight night by Joe Cantada...I was more the time of Curry, Mccallum, Benn etc... But since Im probably older..let me give you a perspective..Sanchez was a relative unknown until that Gomez fight..thats when people took notice because Gomez was a beast at 122..I say 122 because he was never good at 126..yes its 4 pounds..Heres the question? how many fights did Gomez won at 126??? He wasnt proven at that weight..Period...Still a great victory for Sal...His greatest
great perspective! still sanchez have done more at 126 compared to pac who just fought only mab and jmm there. was there a time after or before he defeated gomez that a fight with arguello was possible?
Ill give you a bit of perspective on that.. Back in the early eighties (not my prime at watching but not too far off that there was some residual news from Arguello and Sanchez) Its funny you mentioned this because they had this fantasy matchups all over boxing magazines or sport pages..I mean at the time the concensus was Arguello will stop him. If you like you might be able to google some articles about it. (actual clips) Lo and behold since Sanchez death. all of a sudden hes this mythical figure that was the greatest mexican fighter of all time. I wonder what the fantasy matchups would suggest had they done it post mortem. Now just to give you an idea that sometimes when someone dies in their prime..his status is somewhat elevated..no one takes into consideration that their skills might regress or someone could come along and beat them had they lived. Theres always the assumption that if so and so didnt die so young..he would have been the greatest ever..I dont know how people come up with that.
This is bull****. Pacman was suppose to run over Morales in their first fight. Morales was considered done before his first fight with pacman. It wasnt until he beat Manny that people thought he still had it. Truth was, it was his last great performance and was he really was a faded form of himself. Chava has better skills than Morales as well and would KO manny late in the fight, no doubt. And for those who say Sanchez had trouble with lesser fihters, Manny too had his hands full with Hussein and Sanchez in what many consider pacman's prime weightclass.:yep
Sanchez by TKO. Pac doesn't pose many stylistic problems to Sanchez, he would be outboxed and counterpunched. Much like JMM, Sanchez is a great counterpuncher, the difference is he had better defence and would not get dropped/hurt. He has more then enough power to keep Pac honest and would be able to more than hold his own in the exchanges. Sanchez wears him down and stops him late.
