Why not? He knows his level, which is near the top of European level. So why not just collect the salps of good names on paper? Why pick up an unnecessary loss to a Taylor? He's honest with himself.

    Round 7 Martin 10-9
    Round 8 Martin 10-8

Sando starting to style on him, giving a ton of movement, and landing in bombination now; Kay finally goes all out, gets Martin on the ropes and lands a solid flurry. Martin takes it back to the middle of the ring. Kay putting his head down, and walking into one twos. Ref takes a point from Kay for some bizarre reason. Hard left from Sandor lands before the bell. Closer round, but not close enough and the lost point certainly didn't help.

Wrong. He challenged for the EBU title first time in 2017, and lost to Yigit.

In 2015 he won the EU version, that places you high in the EBU ranking and might make you mandatory for the EBU title.

Martin won the EBU title in July 2019, and this is his second defence.

Martin lands a looping left, rocks Kay, he follows up with another as Kay slightly turns his head. Ref almost takes another point for being off balance. Kay trying to inch in as an orthodox. Landing little. Now back to southpaw. Goes for one two, misses, walks into a hard stiff jab. Both just staring at one another. Kay goes for another ajb, eats a jab from Martin.

It just doesn't really make for good fights since he never gets pushed or has to make adjustments against this level of opposition. He could take on some gatekeepers or fringe contenders at least imo

I've always quite enjoyed watching him style on subpar fighters.:nusenuse:

Kay is lost. Falling short with everything. Usually getting clipped with jabs and one twos. They hold, ref pulls them apart aggressively. This has been a weak roud from both. Kay walks into a heavy left. Almost spins around in a pirouette.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware the EBU title has been split up as well.
Looking at the trajectory opposition wise there hasn't really been an incline though, in a head to head sense Ignacio Mendoza who he fought in 2014 might still be the best fighter he has beat to date

Kay inching in, gets him along the ropes. Tries to go for it, ref breaks them, warns Kay for a low blow. Sandor lands with a left hook to the body. Sandor claims low blow. Ref docks him another point. Not like it really matters. Kay going to the body. Starting to land one twos. Then walks into a few clean heavy hooks. Then misses by a mile. Close round. But no cigar.

Kay comes out in orthodox. Swinging adn missing, walks into a few lefts, getting knocked off balance. Martin landing hook after hook to the body. Ref warns the hell out of him for landing a punch apparently.:lol:Have left to the chin adna left to the body from Martin. Kay getting aggressive, ref looking to intervene before he even lands anything. Hard left on the button and another a few seconds later from Martin.

    120-106 Martin

If corrupt actions by the ref are the highlights of a fight, it was wasted time to watch.
