I saw Sandy Saddler,a rough and cutting puncher, against the tall explosive puncher,Arguello...What a fight that would have been,in their primes at 126-130lbs...Who survives that punchfest? Your thoughts ? P.S. As i am new at ESB,what does my notifications[3] mean? Thanks....
If you click on your notifications a wee list should come down and then there should be a bit in bold normally freind request or personal message. I like Arguellos sharper more accurate punching in this, I think he could out box Saddler in a war to take a UD
Arguello KO, dont like Saddlers defense and wide punching against Arguellos straight punches/accuracy/power
People say that if a man stands in range it's effectively suicide against Saddler, but i disagree in this case. The technical ability and strength of Arguello in this kind of fight gives him a very good chance imo.
G pater 11093, thanks for your notification info...Yes I agree with you..I saw Saddler a couple of times MSG..Tough and cruel puncher was he...But he as a standup fighter with very little mobility, would be cannon fodder for the murderous punching and taller Arguello...I love the experienced boxers of the 1940s golden age, but styles make fights and Arguello stops the tough Sandy Saddler in seven rounds or less...Thanks again G PATER B.B.
No problem at all BB, really enjoy reading your posts, just so much at the time knowledge and even knowledge pre-dating your existence. I wouldnt say Saddler is immobile, he showed good movement against Riley, but I dont think he can sustain his mobility. I just think - like you - in a war Arguellos accurate and harder punching win the day.
