At feather, I think he gives all these guys hell. Rough stylistic matchup. Thoughts? [YT]y9QB6HVTndw[/YT]
but now come to watching more goddamn pepp was truly amazing and ahead of his time, those angles were insane
He KOs all Pac,Barrera and Marquez late but UDs Morales He gets Knokced down by pac though maybe once or twice and the closes one to beating him(in terms of scorecards) probably Marquez with a score of like 7-5-1 (15 rounders of course) by the time of stoppage
Saddler was a mauler. But Pep is considered the greater fighter- insane defense if you've ever seen the clips. Pep fought Saddler after 137 pro fights, and more importantly, after a plane wreck that left him with serious injuries and not nearly the boxer he was before the wreck. Hard to say how Saddler would fare against the current greats. He was a very rough-styled fighter, but tough as nails. Those older guys just had stamina and a toughness that you don't see nowadays. Maybe because they fought All the time.
Most boxing historians believe that Pep was a shadow of his former self after the plane wreck, so I'm not sure if this was a question of contrasting styles determining the outcome of the Saddler fights or that Pep was past his prime (not to take anything away from Saddler, who obviously was an ATG). But the results may been the same regardless. No one can say for certain. I just wish there was more footage out there to watch.
Saddler beats them all, he KO's Marquez, and Barrera. Decisions Pacquiao, the Morales fight would be the toughest for him but I see him winning a war by close decision.
