This matchup was featured around 1990 in ring magazines battle of the legends section. I remember Bob Sharick was on that panel and picked Sadler by an early round knockout. Subscribers commented for weeks on how lopsided that analysis was and I agreed with them. Sanchez was an exceptional feather weight and a true all time great who I think would have given any feather a great fight in victory or defeat.

So who wins? I might pick Sadler by a close decision but In all honesty it’s anyone’s fight.

I understand the ‘outrage’ over picking an ATG to get KO’d early because ‘well he’s so great so you have to make this fight close,’ but that’s not how it works. Even an ATG can get stopped early, it’s happened throughout history.

I think Sandy messes him up pretty good.

Can Saddler win without fighting dirty?

I think Saddler's constant pressure and high volume punching would help him take it. Sanchez would be competitive, but I also see him taking a lot of damage.
