    Who takes this out?

Would be a good matchup. Both have dentable chins, both have stamina issues (Cruz more than Katsidas).

I think most would automatically go for Santa Cruz as he brings more skill and experience to the table. And thats fair enough.

But I reckon Katsidas could definitely take this. He wont be the same kind of match up as Casamayor, he wouldnt be giving rounds away. I think he has the kind of approach that would wear Santa Cruz down.
He mixes his attacks up pretty well and is always looking to hurt.

Ill never forget Santa Cruz against Trejo, he just ran out of gas against a determined opponant who kept attacking. I could see this happening against Rocky.

Would be a good fight, Id say Santa Cruz would deservingly start favourite but I think Katsidas could stop him mid-late rounds.

Katsidas KO late...Cruz is skilled and smart enough to keep Katsidas at a distance for a little while but not for 12 rounds:(

the santa cruz that "lost" to casamayor would beat the katsidis that lost also to casamayor. it really depends on the conditioning and mindset of the two fighters. if rocky comes in and changes his entire fighting style because of what happened against casa, then santa cruz will have a distinct advantage.

katsidis should really take on an easy one before getting in a fight with the contenders at 135 to get his groove back.

Katsidas doesnt need an easy fight right now....Throw him back with the lions:fire
In my opinion a close defeat in a great fight, against a great opponent is worth much more than a 1st round KO against some cabdriver:deal

Kat takes it... his adaptation against JC from round 3 to 9 is underrated. He showed some solid skill. Shame he did what he did in the tenth.

Santa Cruz is very underrated... he was clearly ahead on the cards when Diaz landed a lucky uppercut (PacMan better watch out for that).

He'd easily outpoint Katsidis, and since his chin is weak, a TKO is possible as well...

Getting a beatdown where you are dominated all fight might do that

But getting caught like he did I dont think will. But we will wait and see.

we look at things differently. 1 more tough ko like that and katsidis may choose to hang them up for good. i really think he should get an easy fight or two so that he could get his confidence back.

IMO Katsidis can win this fight by late stoppage as long as he gets lucky.

For all of Katsidis aggression and heart, he fights without intelligence. With his unrelenting forward pressure and power he continues to use his head as defence.

In theory, Kat should get picked to pieces, but against Santa Cruz I actually think the fight plays out simarly to the success Diaz had. Diaz gave Santa Cruz breaks between applying pressure and Santa Cruz took that as an opportunity to range Diaz and then had success with his reach and left rights (Pavlik style), but then lost his advantages and some power when inside or against the ropes. Katsidis is more furious than Diaz and wouldn't allow Santa Cruz the comfort of distance as often.

IMO if Kats skin can avoid or absorb flying shots whizzing past his unguarded temple then he will take Santa Cruz down late.

Exactly. Cruz is a glorified journeyman. Katsidis is cut above.

How do you figure that??? He was beating Diaz and was totally robbed in the Casamayor fight. He should be a world champion right now. Tough kid and a world class fighter, not a "glorified journeyman."

This would be a good fight imo. I'm too biased to pick against Katsidis though.

He also clearly beat Cherry, who some think is a legit contender but is at least a "glorified jounrneyman", making Santa Cruz a level above him.
