Santa Cruz vs quigg?

Time for Frampton's team to accept the offers they've been made.

 

Hearn with his sky contract is indeed powerful but I would stop short of saying he has the most clout....lets not forget he was done over by little Dennis Hobson over the McDonnell farce and managed to lose a purse bid to Warrren which meant Ryder had to fight BJS on BN..

 

Would be the Sturm - Barker thing all over again in that Eddie would secure a massive purse for Quigg at the very worst.

 

Quigg and Hearn are within there rights to turn Frampton down now if his camp now accept fight and fight LSC instead, after all Carls camp have repeatedly turned fight with Quigg down. Always thought Hearn would get LSC first, as he is close to GB and Quigg is a world champion.

 

If quigg goes over to the states to fight LSC then I'm not sure you could say Hearn has outmanouvered Mcguigan. It's got to be worst option going at the moment from a career point of view and in all likelyhood Hearns eagerness to stitch up the frampton camp would just end up in a losing fight that does little for Quiggs profile.

To me it either looks like a negotiating tool to force Frampton to the table, or maybe a small chance he's got somehting big planned like a Quigg/LSC Brook/Porter PPV in the uk?

 

LSC won't end up in Belfast. Frampton would have to travel.

 

yeah I agree. It's a lesser issue for frampton though he's already built his fanbase at home. Quigg having been unable to sell a ticket has just had a great boost from fighting in front of the Murray/Crolla crowd...needs a big winnable fight at home to cement that fanbase. A really tough fight at 4am uk time is just about the last thing he needs I'd have thought.

 

I'd fight in Mauritius surrounded by several thousand ex Playboy playmates but no promoter has made me an offer yet sadly.

 

Misread what you said there Sharpy -I would favour LSC in USA.If I was Quigg thats what I would do.

There is one thing that is a fundamental principle of boxing:
Boxing managers steer their charges clear of big punchers.
Always have - always will. They avoid punchers like the plague.

Carl and Kiko both have ko power.
For all his formidable attributes, LSC is not a big puncher.

Better to lose on points to LSC in USA - much easier to rationalise that and explain it away with little damage to Scotts marketability.

 

LSC would stop Quigg IMO

 

Apart from not being a huge puncher, LSC is not hard to find - and Scott can dig a bit himself......

 

What should happen; Quigg fights Kiko in what would be a great 50/50 fight. Frampton fights Santa Cruz in another 50/50 fight. The winners of them two fights are lined up to fight with losers facing off, from a UK point of view we would be hoping for Frampton and Quigg to come through which is also quite likely, either way the only realistic challenger to Rigonduex is decided and has gained the experience to make it a great fight.

What will happen; Hearn will pursue Santa Cruz for Quigg just so Frampton can't fight him, Frampton is left in limbo with Kiko avoiding him like the plague and Rigonduex calling him out, Quigg left with all the options and Frampton left frustrated, Quigg Frampton eventually happens on Hearn and Quigg terms, probably in Manchester.
