Great win for Frampton , and great for British boxing.

    I did have the fight much closer 115 - 113 .

But I don't think Carl can hit that level again and Santa Cruz to be that poor.

Next time Leo will go to the body early and break Carl down.

You could see it in the post match that Cruz was like ' yep I messed up but I've got this in the return'.

I hope im wrong and I would love the fight over here somewhere.

    peace.

I'm sure anyone world class who fights Carl will think that because Carl tires in the second half of fights, thus making the opponent think they've worked Carl out but it's a false sense of security. Carl is so sharp and skillfull in the first 6 or 7 rounds of a fight that he's almost guaranteed to win the majority of them rounds against anyone. In the second half of fights he tires but has enough heart and skill to see out the win while dropping a few rounds. This makes opponents (like Quigg and LSC) think that if they start faster they can win the fight but the fact of the matter is, Frampton is so good im the first half of a fight he won't let you start fast.

If LSC was to win a rematch it would be a razor close decision. Carl can definitely win at least 5 or 6 rounds in a rematch. If it's in Belfast which I think it should be, LSC hasn't a hope.

The individual rounds were indeed competitive ..so lsc will have some hope for the rematch. But I think Carl will use his jab ....his great jab that he neglected in the first fight more to good effect and win easier the second time.

Even though I scored the first fight to Cruz I feel it will be similar to the frampton Martinez fights where he uses his ring intelligence more if there's a rematch and it's much wider the second time. I don't feel Cruz has the pop to trouble him, he only got to him when frampton gassed and still couldn't do enough. I think the cards would be similar to those in the first fight but this time deservedly so

    I had it 114-114

I don't really get your point of Santa Cruz to be that poor they both boxed superb. It was so close and if there was a rematch which I hope there is I really don't think either fighter will break the other down. As for Carl hitting that level again his last 2 fights have been 1 a unification between 1 and 2 in the UK. And the 2nd goes over to the US to fight for a featherweight title. With Frampton you can't knock him for finding a way to win. If the rematch does take place LSC Dad made me laugh he wants the fight closer to home this time :rofl ffs u had it in the US now u want it on the west coast. If anything u would be thinking ok lets go Belfast and get the title back which to LSC credit he has said he would do if needed but prefers LA.

If anyone deserves a home fight its Frampton Manchester and the Staets now back to Belfast.

Santa Cruz wasn't "poor" to begin with, both fought a top fight... Frampton was just too sharp and his punch selection was on point.

I wouldn't have called LSC poor. He was just outclassed early on.

Good post, I was at the Barclays Center and thought Frampton dominated the early rounds, and that he will do so in the return.

Hmm, I'd lean toward LSC. I don't think he can fight any 'better' than he did that night; that is to say he certainly can't change his gameplan more dramatically so I think it would be the same outcome.

Still so impressed with Frampton from that fight. Fantastic stuff

Frampton will win again for me especially if in Belfast. The first fight I thought was probably a draw but leaning towards Frampton if I had to call a winner.

The volume of punches was with LSC but the quality exchanges and work were coming from Frampton and that is what will happen again in a rematch. In front of a partisan home support I don't see the judges going with LSC should it play out that way.

Indeed. It's not like he doesn't draw there so they should bring an opponent to Belfast. The problem is that Barry doesn't have the financial backing to put up the money to do so.

For all the annoying things about Fast Car, you have to give him credit for that. He does back the fighters he has with a following, stumping the cash to get them the fights they want in the UK.

I also scored it 114-114. The rematch will be great and also very close. The 2 other scorecards were unfair on Santa Cruz, as if it was 9 rounds to 3.
