I think it was a pretty uncontroversial draw. Others have already commented about the outlandish score, 117-111 for Luevano, that one judge had. Besides that, I think it showed that Luevano clearly has some limitations, but is a solid fighter. He perhaps fought a poor gameplan by engaging Santiago in as much of slugfest as he did. However, I was impressed with the Puerto Rican and will look forward to seeing him in there with others at featherweight.

i am impressed though about luevano, he was still game after getting hit by so many shots, and hitting santiago back. Both these guys are on the same level, luevano is the most weakest of the champs at 126. John, linares, guerrero would destroy him

I was going to comment about this. I am with you that Luevano is talented and can be fun to watch in certain scenarios; however, I think that those men you listed would have their way with him.

Close fight, a draw was not a bad result. Lueveno proved that while he is a good fighter, he has limitations that can and will be exposed by top fighter. He didn't follow his gameplan very well and his chin is questionable, I think it's clear he's the weakest champ at 126.

lueveno is a solid fighter but he never had pop. his last fight he looked good but never made the other guy respect him. and you need some pop in the pocket incase u go up against a pressure fighter. But lueveno messed up in fighting the other guys fight instead of doing his thing

Great fight, probably the best on the card, and I'd like to see more of Santiago. A lot of back and forth action, and it looked like each guy was done several times. It was annoying though, kind of reminded me of the Taylor-Winky fight. All Santiago had to do to win the fight was not stop working the last couple rounds, yet that's exactly what he did. Title was his for the taking.

That was a great fight, how one judge saw 117-111 is beyond me.

Sick fight, best of the night in my opinion....no doubt Puerto Rico vs Mexico is the best and most competitive rivialry in boxing. You can see both men dug deep and pulled out energies that only conjure themselves up with your fighting to prove a point. While some may argue that both men have questionable chins I'll go out on a limb and say both men have pretty solid beards for absorbing the punishment they took in that fight especially Luevano.
