Argentinian fighters are like a fine spirit that can only be created in one country... They are unique to their country and that's all there is to it. If it comes from anywhere else, it isn't authentic.

Sometimes I think that being from Argentinian makes one automatically a legitimate fighter. There must be some kind of learning curve to living there...

    I'm doing my best! ;)

I'll finally have access to high speed internet again for the first time in a few days in the next few hours, so I'm going to upload at least four rare Edwin Rosario bouts and some other good stuff too.

What do you think of his durability and stamina? On an all time great level? I can't imagine how he can be deemed anything except for the highest level of sturdiness that you can allocate to a fighter, with good stamina to boot... Like I said, 900+ rounds, never stopped.

Yeah Russell, I've always been a fan of Monzon, Locche, Galindez, and yes...Corro...and now, thanks to your efforts, I'm going to get into Laciar...check out some of his fights...whatever is available on You Tube, that is,...and check out that head movement that you allude to....also, within the next couple of days, I'll be ready to post my threads on a couple of Japanese stars that I was so familiar with back in the 70's.

You know, it's actually a really funny coincidence you mention that about Japanese fighters... I was just getting settling in after a morning out and the next fight on my mind to do a thread on was going to be a bout containing Japanese flyweight Shoji Oguma. Pretty funny we're more or less thinking the same exact thing even though we're like complete night and day opposites in terms of age, location, everything.

Impressed? I love his left hook. So accurate, he doesn't get carried away or wild with it. Just clinical when he gets you hurt. The slow motion reply after the bout was already over is really needed to appreciate the first left hook that jars the Japanese fighter badly... very good punch.

Russell, you should learn the Japanese language...even if you just go on line for instruction. It's the same way with me and Russian. I first learned the Cyrillic alphabet that they use and then I found a great on line instructor...and now my vocabulary has greatly increased.....I can read Russian...but my goal is to be fluent enough to converse with a native speaker (particularly an attractive female native speaker:headbang:)....

A definite blind spot for me...Santos Laciar, where have you been all my life?

Excellent on both counts pal, he was really good at navigating the distance. Just an incredibly firm, sound all-round operator. His record should look better than it does too, he beat Magri imo and was supposedly unlucky not to get the decision against the very talented Ibarra in Panama.

The other two things that I like about him is that he fought and beat a who's who throughout his reign and took his title on the road when he could've been more or less assured to retain it every time in Argentina. Proper little nomad warrior in that sense. And he held onto it against some stellar opposition while the
WBC title was being swapped around like pass the parcel.

Dude, that's awesome. More power to you and I hope it comes true in the most literal sense for you.

Yeah, it's funny how he's the polar opposites of fighters that came after him, fighters that literally sat on a title at home as if it was their very own investment nest egg sort of thing. The fracturing of the belts did a lot of damage to the sport in it's own ****ed up way. Created a lot of people and fighters willing to put on low quality matches to maintain their "bargaining" power.

It's funny..I believe that I've always had a flair for languages...though I never studied any at school. I'm also being "coached" in Spanish...Puerto Rican Spanish....I like that...by some folks I know at work...It's not as extensive as the Russian, but I'm liking it!

I've just picked up a little Spanish on my own from watching so many fights and being around my partner's large and very Spanish heavy family. I went through Spanish in school way back when but of course retained/learned nothing. Thanks public education school systems!
