There's nothing I'd love more than to see Yildirim pull off the upset, but he doesn't have the tools and the chin for it. So I'm not even going to entertain desperately looking for and pushing a possible scenario other than the most obvious one. He's going to be dissected and probably knocked unconscious in a matter of minutes, there's even a possibility if he starts out too aggressive, he might not make it to round 2. Yeah, sure... Yildirim is a sparring partner, but as we all know... Canelo doesn't take it easy on them on bit. Even when they're hopelessly overmatched journeymen that he can tee off on at will. So no quarter will be shown.

Can't see Yildirim having close fights with Charlo, Lara or Andrade

The obvious question is why? Why does this fight need to take place when there are so many better notions for Canelo. He generates lots of money and can pick anyone. Why would I he choose to fight this guy? I’m not interested.

Because it's money, because it's an easy fight, because he stays active and it gives him a better chance to fight in May without any injury or any other sorts of problem.

I'm not a fan of Canelo outside the ring, but whenever he does something people complain and it's tiresome... He wants to fight 3 times a year and it's a problem. One year ago everyone kept saying he would never fight Smith, Smith is the best 168lbs and he cherry picked with Fielding, etc. Now that he completly schooled him Smith was never the best at 168lbs, now it's Benavidez. Now in May if we finally get the fight vs Saunders people will say Saunders was never any good even though 90% of the board would say Saunders beats Canelo but Canelo wins via robbery.

Because it's a mandatory, as we all know Canelo ALWAYS fights his mandatories.

Normally I'd agree, but if he is fighting Dec, Feb, May I can't fault him for this one. It's a mandatory as well.

To beat Canelo, you have to knock him out. Is that going to happen? Canelo is -5000, which illustrates the situation.

I dunno, maybe I'm just not as invested as some of you but I don't see a problem with this fight. Especially since the plan is for it to be sandwiched between 2 world title unification bouts.

Canelo needs a highlight reel KO of this guy.

He cannot be carried 12 rounds like Liam F'ing Smith.

Why does Canelo need a highlight KO?
