I have a shutout for Vargas but it just wasn't the result he needed. He is an aging fighter that doesn't have good power. He is an attritional technician which isn't the type to sell tickets. Solid win but not going to move the needle.

This was a solid comeback effort for Vargas. He was forced to work. It will prepare him well for what's next.

Ray Vargas looked unimpressive. No strength and power. Luckily for him, there's no Inoue or Donaire in this division, they would've destroyed him

 

Vargas boxing relies way too much in his reach advantage. As it is normal.

It will be harder and harder for him as he goes up in weight. (harder than usual, I mean)

It is good too. It will get the best out of vargas. Let's see what he can do when he pushes himself to the limits.
