Didn't think I was ever going to sign up for DAZN but I did
I couldn't resist the value ($20 bucks) Canelo vs Jacobs was something most of us really wanted to see
I'm also a subscriber of ESPN+ and I can surely say that for 5 bucks a month it's pretty much a steal.
Here's my take on DAZN first glance,

Took 5 seconds to sign up, process was easy. The presentation and layout of the app is nice looking.

as far as the show goes in terms of presentation, less than satisfying
I thought the commentary was dreadful especially Todd Grisham in the preshow (he was never any good in wrestling either), my opinion the commentary team either makes or breaks a show and this just wasn't very insightful or entertaining. Felt like a low budget corporate presentation with Jacobs entrance having a huge f up and other quirks and mishaps. You could tell the crowd wasn't very engaged at all at any point in the show. It just didn't feel like a big deal. Wilder vs Fury just as an example from latest fights felt like it meant something! That fight had buzz before DURING and after the fight. That show felt like a ppv a big deal but DAZN's presentation of a big fight just felt like some random sport channel you accidently flipped on that lacks any kind of appeal or interest.

Despite hearing that others felt that the fight between Canelo and Jacobs was boring, I personally enjoyed the fight. Jacobs would start too late and ultimately just didn't do enough to defeat a slick Canelo. I loved Canelo's head movement in the middle rounds and to me he pretty much outclassed an older Daniel Jacobs. Canelo is top 5 P4P without a doubt after this performance. Value.

Will I continue my subscription once my month is up? Most likely not. I'll get to watch USYK and Joshua in action but after that I'm probably out.

Marquez can't seem to get rid of that pesky pesky Canelo grudge.

DAZN definitely lacks production... it feels kinda bland and stale. exactly how u described it, like flipping thru and finding some sports channel like ESPN 8 lol.... very standard.

I agree with your assessment of the DAZN presentation. It's a shame Lampley or Roy Jones aren't working the booth. Grisham was pretty dull in WWE.

    Round 1: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 2: 10-9 Jacobs close
    Round 3: 10-9 Alvarez close
    Round 4: 10-9 Alvarez
    Round 5: 10-9 Alvarez
    Round 6: 10-9 Alvarez
    Round 7: 10-9 Jacobs close
    Round 8: 10-9 Jacobs
    Round 9: 10-9 Jacobs close
    Round 10: 10-9 Jacobs close
    Round 11: 10-9 Alvarez
    Round 12: 10-9 Jacobs close

    115-113 Jacobs

This is my scorecard. But i think 114-114 or 115-113 CLENELO are fine aswell. There were many close rounds Clenelo probably edged with his solid jab work or nice sharp counters + he was coming forward a lot. So i have no problem with the result in general. But again, those german commentators on DAZN were pathetic!!!! They scored it 10-2 for the Mexican drug cheat....

Can’t believe so many had Jacobs winning on here. I thought it was pretty clear and comfortable. Seems like a lot of Jacobs fans scored round 11 to Jacobs which is ridiculous. There is no way he won that round especially.

    LOL

"Clenelo" 2x, "Mexican drug cheat" ..........Yeah, it sounds like your scoring was clearly objective from the get go.

Actually it was a close fight. First three rounds were close as both were feeling into the fight and warming up. Imo Jacobs edged the first round pretty clear on activity. Clenelo barely throw & landed a punch there. Second and third probably pick em rounds. Rds 4,5,6 CLEAR Clenelo rounds. Then Jacobs took a bit over imo, landed good shots, was much busier than before although it was still close. Rd 11 again a clear Canelo round. And R12 again very close with good action from both. I gave it to Jacobs who still landed more and was much busier, Clenelo was focusing on counters and he didn't come forward like before, Jacobs with good pressure.

Overall i can see a range of scores from 115-113 Jacobs to 116-112 Clenelo. It's solid score in the end. No robbery. Of course you need to land more than what Jacobs landed to impress judges to give you the win. Especially with the crowd cheering for all those blocked or forearm punches....and Jacocbs did block a LOT of Clenelos punches.

Adam Smith is truly awful. He makes up narratives about fighters being on top, hurt , missing, blowing...he just tries to dramatise **** and create storylines. Listen to trainers and boxers tiptoe around his stupendous commentary. Head of SS boxing my ass.
