Canelo is the best boxer right now!!! He is fighting the best not some cherry pick who had momentum to get people to buy the fight! Jacobs is a p4p fighter who never got his credit and they both beat triple G

173lb was his 8am recheck weight. He was probably in excess of 180.

    People crack me up.

Giving the smaller fighter who was coming forward most of the night **** because he didnt 'press the action enough' while winning.

Hes a short, defensive based boxer puncher that has stamina issues... him pressing the action more against top tear fighters is a tactical mistake.

Canelo fought exactly as he should have.

exactly!! it´s not like he was Fighting a freakish Puncher! in fact, you can make the Argument that Jacobs is the bigger hitter! it´s not like he had to tiptoe through a minefield.
and yes, EVERYONE (including Jacobs) knew he was the B-side!! even the odds reflected that. at fight time, he was a 6-1 Underdog.....not because he wasnt on the same Talent Level (He was), because no one expected him to get a decision if the fight was remotely competative.

personally, i wouldnt say the fight was fixed. but if People watching this get a weird Feeling, i cant blame them.

He had a 30 pound jacket of flesh on him and on top of that he had a body protector that came up to his nipples.

Canelo was unable to put a dent into him.

My issue with him is... he acts all hyped up pre fight... like hes about to assault Canelo in the ring, then he gets in there and does.... that?

Hes the larger fighter, hes got power... and towards the end of the fight when it should have been clear he was losing the fight, to me he rarely really stepped out of his comfort zone to try and take the victory.

Now.... it would be more understandable if he wasnt a powerful puncher and the larger fighter and was fighting a huge puncher. But... he was the bigger guy, hes got good power, and Canelo isnt the biggest of punchers.

So ya I was kinda bugged by his performance.

Someone somewhere made the point in advance that it wasn't likely to be a classic with both men more comfortable as counter punchers. I got frustrated with Danny and also his corner who I don't think were explicit enough in telling him to do more. However I just think he's too long in the tooth to change, he's not that kind of fighter.

The 11th in particular was perplexing because he squandered the momentum he'd built up, whether he was tired and trying to steal a rest I'm not sure, but that was the point that his slim decision hopes went and deservedly so.

When it comes to Danny's performance last night. Canelo was simply the better fighter ,and when you have a guy in Canelo. Who is coming at you, he is in your face, countering very well and moving his head, it makes you very hesitant to throw punches. :chuck:

BTW why was the Anyone upset with Jacobs' performance last night thread deleted?

One more observation: Álvarez now has six fights in the all-time most-replied-to RBR top 30. (Golovkin II, Mayweather, Trout, Cotto, Jacobs, and Lara)

Whether you love or hate the guy, he for damn sure does stimulate discussion on the sport, from casuals on through die-hard fans..

7-5 for Canelo is a good score however GGG was right, the fight was boring and emotionless, pointed out by occasional booing.

I don’t care to see the rematch.

Canelo looked good cutting off the ring, being slippery, countering while coming forward. Little shades of Duran in their with his slick defensive ability.

Disappointed for Jacobs. Huge size advantage, power advantage, better athlete. Why fight so negative? You know you ain't getting a decision, why not bring it?

Anyways, clearest 1117-111 fight I ever saw.
