    You know, while I did not like them two decades ago, with the safety first penchant of referees these days I think I might be in favor of standing eight counts. Right now the refs only have the choice of letting it go or stopping it because they don't want the guy to keep getting hit. A standing eight count would give them a choice without stopping the fight too soon.
