Probably filled in the same day the judges were contracted. That was some horrific scoring

Predictable the judges would give the rounds to Canelo even the ones Ryder deserved to win. Did you see Sulaiman hugging Canelo in the ring before the fight started? @ Serge tells me Sulaiman is part of Team Canelo.

I've seen lots of Ryder's fights. That's how he fights when he's found his rhythm. His record is very deceiving. He's a good fighter and when people act like Clenelo was fighting a bum they don't know what they're talking about.

Clenelo fought well and was a deserved winner, and I think that might be the first time Juan has ever been off his feet, but I knew it would be competitive and that Juan would have his success and win rounds and he managed to do so after a terrible start getting his face and nostrils busted up in just the second round. That obviously would've made him tense up and put him under enormous mental pressure but once he eventually started to relax more he was able to show his skills and cause Clenelo much more problems.

I'm responding to Reg insinuating that Ryder was a better opponent.

Ryder took a much bigger beating than Smith.

I didn't see that. I saw Canelo abusing Ryder's face, and body where Canelo mainly abused Smiths left bicep.

He rocked Ryder's brain, broke his nose, dropped him to the canvas, abused his body.

I saw Canelo trying to KO Ryder in his hometown and letting Ryder open up to get that opportunity.

I also think Smith is a much better fighter than Ryder, but Ryder just has the style to trouble Smith.

First half of the fight I think it was the wrong tactics from Ryder. His short punches didn't have enough in them to keep canelo off.

The broken nose didn't help. To me it looked like pure pain that made him drop.

Lastly in Ryders defence I think the occasion got to him a bit.

Now Canelo.... he's not the fighter he was. The step-step-right hand is so telegraphed that Ryder could get his hand up to defend "almost" everytime. Sooner or later someone good enough is going to be able to counter it, or like bivol, it won't have much effect.

I'd prefer to see punches in combinations from canelo. Two or three landed medium punches is going to get the work done more effectively than one hard one bouncing off the glove, even if the impact does get through.

I'd have to rewatch it but I think ryder buzzed canelo at the end of round 9, when he was going for the knockout. I noticed a change in body language with 20-odd seconds to go.

Canelo is still elite but he's vulnerable. He won't win against bivol. Does benevidez have a chin? Will he walk through canelo's punches and land enough clean ones himself to wear Canelo out?

    We shall see.

Ryder is now famous in all of Mexico. He put respek on his own name but aged 99 years in the process in terms of boxing. That was a beatdown, thank goodness he had a thick neck & thighs to absorb it. Canelo was knocking around the ring with shots he actually blocked.

Much respect for not quitting when lesser men would've folded.

He was, he won between 4 and 5 rounds off of Canelo, Smith won big fat ZERO.

Who gives a ****? He still won more rounds and gave Canelo a bigger beating in the process.

Again, who gives a ****? He still won more rounds and gave Canelo hell down the stretch, Callum just stood there and took a pounding.

You're seeing things inaccurately, there's a reason why I've been hyping up Ryder for years, he's deceptively crafty, and when he gets in his rhythm he does exactly what he did tonight. Canelo didn't let him do anything, he did it because that's what he does. Had he not suffered the broken nose and KD early, we might be all crying robbery.

Callum Smith lost to Ryder and lost to Canelo wide, a busted up Ryder gave Canelo more of a fight than GGG and Callum Smith combined.

So knock it off, and give Ryder credit, it'll serve you well in the long run as a Canelo fan. This was a solid win over the SECOND BEST in the division.

Canelo has cement feet and fights in spots with 2-3 punch combinations which are spiteful and accurate.

When Canelo lets his hands fly he is very very elite ....BUT .....that style is all wrong against a mover like Bivol
