Honestly exhausted from this silly fight and the even more bizarre discussion surrounding it. Would have much rather have seen Bud stay at 154 and take on the best guys there with Canelo fighting Benavidez at 175 for his strap there. I really want this fight to have happened already in all honesty, and not have to hear again and again how much of a chance Bud has, how he's somehow the bigger man, how Canelo is a bum, how both of them haven't fought anyone, etc., etc. This fight has been a massive circus and it's been draining to follow and largely uninspiring. With all that out the way, Canelo on points in a tepid affair.

The big fight of the card for me is MBilli against Lester Martinez, after I will say Canelo vs Crawford, and after (3) Serhii Bohachuk vs Brandon Adams, (4) Jermaine Franklin vs Dychko (hope Jermaine Franklin will beat the Kazakh even if I doubt of that because after I see the Kazakh always be invincible, he will beats all the times again journeyman in his home country and 10 years after we will speak about Dychko), and (5) I'm interested by Reito Tsutsumi vs Javier Martinez, this journeyman can be a tough fight for the young brother of Hayato.

Yessir. I’m not gonna talk like some sort of expert in the company of you all, but yeah Crawford beating Prescott was the first fight I saw him in.

You don’t know boxing that’s for sure. Bivol style matchup is the better equivalent to Bud and he schooled Canelo. Madrimov’s style is different to Canelo’s. Styles make fights. Also the intangibles favour Bud.

Go Bud! I know the chances are slim, but Crawford is a great fighter, and great fighters do great things.

You think a career super lightweight/welterweight who couldn't knock out Madrimov at 154 is going to stop a super middleweight who arguably has the best chin in the sport, but I'm the one who doesn't know boxing?

Canelo looks like he carries the weight better after rehydrating than Crawford at the ceremonial Weigh-in. Maybe Crawford will be a little more sluggish than normal. A little of Crawfords tone went away, but more of Canelo's muscles came back. I lean towards Canelo because he will be just as fast and strong as usual, but Bud is likely a little blown up.

@CST80 I saw your bet on under 9.5. I'm curious about the reasoning behind this bet. Why do you think so?

It pays 7/2 (4.50), was it the reason?

Precisely, and depending on how poorly Crawford reacts to his punches, it's also a possible outcome.

Great message, but the wrong messenger. A guy who turns 38 in two weeks is talking about the best fighting the best. Bruh, you're 38 years old. Your best is already behind you.

Thanks @IntentionalButt — was hoping there would be a picks thread.

I think it goes somewhat the way of Canelo-Plant. Yes, Bud is better than Caleb but he’s also not naturally as big.

Going to be fairly even for the first eight or nine rounds, but I think the ginger makes bank deposits with his body work and that wears Bud down for a strong Canelo finish for a points win.

I’ve recently started back at a boxing gym for workouts (was previously hitting bags at a friend’s garage who used to box, but he moved so after some summer travel I joined the gym) and it’s been great fun to be around boxers (and just workout folks who are boxing fans) to hear all the banter the last couple of weeks. Everybody has had to pick a side and lots of good-natured back-and-forth on who’s going to win from both sides.

I’d be interested but with all of that I’m definitely hyped.

(Full disclosure: I really can’t pick against Saul since I have a ginger cat I named Canelo, so yes I am biased. He’s also excited about the big fight, haha.)

The Madrimov fight has absolutely nothing to do with Bud vs Canelo. I have said it that Canelo better not step out of line because if he does he will get hurt!I think Canelo has a choice he can lose on points on get stopped. If he makes himself available to get hit by punches he does not see coming Bud will run the numbers on him.

You real think Bud won’t be making deposits in Big Red? Bud is not Plant.
