    Fellas,

Uncle Ted Sares just posted a thread on the ESB front page in regards to aging veteran---Saoul Mamby.....:bbb

I like Mamby; alway have, as well....:yep

I realize Saoul Mamby fought on well beyond his peak days / years but, he did fight everybody and their brother........ YES! I know, Mamby lacked fire-power in his fists.... BUT! His defense and chin was air tight and solid...

Saoul Mamby's pro record was something like 45-33-6 (20) Kos'... Well, close anyway.... NO! Not pretty.... However, I think we NEED to look over his resume to scope out the names of the guys he fought.....:think

Hey, maybe its just me, but I'd vote for Saoul Mamby to be inducted up in New York in a heart-beat......:hey

    Any takers who care????:huh

Man... haven't thought about Mamby in a long time; I'll have to rewatch a lot of tape before coming up with a half-intelligent opinion on that.
Which fights would you most recommend watching from different time periods of his career?

Once again, the kiddies of ESB do NOT give a rats ass..... If it aint "Pacquiao" or "Marquez" nobody gives a flying duck..... It must all be recent............ CHRIST!!

Unfortunately, the fights that I suggest are ancient / hard to find..... You would need to scope out his career from the late 70s to the middle 80s..... Myself, I just reviewed his '84 title shot against Billy Costello earlier tonight... Mamby was age 37 and in great shape, but he dropped the decision... Mamby fought until age 60.......... Peace.....

I wouldnt have him in there but Im sure he could make it in based on current criteria.

His best win is probably over a faded DeJesus..other than that its pretty slim pickings.

Much, much better fighter then his record suggests.

No way, if losing to good competition is a criteria, many deserved to be in the HOF and frankly his resume aint that great upon closer look.

Im from NY, Mamby is a compelling story there but still NO

No he doesn't deserve to be in the HOF but he was a very skilled boxer and I enjoyed watching him.Very smart and crafty.
