I think the most interesting question here would be would Mancini's power vs Mamby's chin.

But its still an intriguing matchup to me.

    So, who, how and why?

I don’t know how many fights Ray had at 140. I’m thinking not many. I still think he was a better fighter than Saoul Mamby but not sure if the weight thing would be an issue

Too me, Mamby was just to inconsistent to bet on especially against a guy like Mancini who was always in shape and a workhorse. Mamby was durable as hell so I don't know that the naturally smaller Mancini could stop him but I could see Mancini outworking him and taking a majority decision.

Very awkward match this one. I see Mancini bustling his way to a decision. I think he's keep the pressure on and outwork him. In the big scheme of things Saoul couldn't bust a grape and i think that is his biggest problem in this one.

I like where your head’s at @AntonioMartin1 — I love Sweet Saoul, such a cutie, but would his natural size advantage overcome Ray’s aggressive, relentless style?

Difficult to say, but I’d look at Mamby’s fight against Billy Costello for clues. Billy didn’t fall for Saoul’s sweet stuff, just kind of took the play away and kept steady pressure to waltz to a fairly easy decision. Ray wouldn’t be able to physically dominate the bigger Mamby, but he would I think outwork him.

I’ll go with Ray by UD.

Me too, thats exactly how I see it! Now, I think Saoul's chin wins in the chin versus fists battle here lmao...similar to how Randy Cobb's chin beat the heck out of Larry Holmes' fists

Yeah, I'm going to dissent as well. Mamby certainly wasn't known as a puncher but he did possess an excellent jab that could be turned over nicely into a quick hook, or followed with a sharp right hand. At his best, he could outmaneuver guys on the outside and match more aggressive fighters in terms of punch output.

Keying off what he did against an admittedly inferior type of swarmer/volume puncher in Termite Watkins, I think Saoul at his best has enough to score a close decision over 15, surging in the late rounds to overcome an early lead.

Mamby was far past his best against Costello

Physically maybe, but he aged like win — the more past his physical prime he got, the cuter he got and craftier.

Yeah I think this would be like the Bramble fight where the opponent is too slick for Ray.

Mamby had an awesome chin to soak up anything Ray landed

He also has a nice height and reach advantage.

His jab would land a lot.

If Ray got inside Mamby would tie him up.

Mamby gave a prime Duran a very good fight and we know Duran was much better than Ray

Mancini by decision regardless of what actually happens.

Mamby could be inconsistent, but he adapts pretty well,he could beat Mancini.
And while I hate to say this, but Mancini is pretty oke dimensional,we saw how Mamby gave the game brawler Maurice Watkins a masterclass,I believe it would be a tougher but same results vs Mancini.

I think Saoul could decision Ray, but it would be a battle at times.
