This link is yet another piece of evidence that Interbox tried to get the "best fighter available" for Bute to fight on March 19th.

Majesky actually convinced Sartison for a second... but Sartison chose to pass on the deal in the end.
    ___________

"Et je veux dire à mes partisans que je désire ardemment faire face aux plus gros noms sur la planète dans ma division de poids. D’ailleurs, le réseau Showtime, qui diffusera le gala du 19 mars, m’a assuré d’un affrontement avec le vainqueur du tournoi Super Six, que ce soit Carl Froch ou Andre Ward" - Bute

"And I want to tell my fans that I absolutely want to face the biggest names of my division. Showtime will broadcast the March 19th card and guaranteed me a fight against the winner of the Super Six, whether it'd be Froch or Ward" - Bute

They report that European SMW Champ Magee is #1 contender @ WBC, #2 @ WBA and #8 @ IBF and that he was then the best available guy outside the Super Six. Larouche states that Magee's right hooks hit hard. Magee will only be the third lefty Bute has faced in his pro career.

This is it for Magee. He probably won't get any other meaningful title fights after this one. He's gonna come to fight and give everything he's got to Bute.

I'm ok with this stay busy fight, but it's nothing more than a nice Saturday night on the couch with a case of beer. Miranda- St-Juste will be fun to watch too.

Good find by a fellow poster.

Carl Moretti, VP Top Rank: "Lucian is clearly, clearly the best SMW right now. He's a classic boxer puncher, does everything well, so the guy in the opposite corner better be one hell of a fighter if he wants to win."

    LOL :rofl

So again, quote me anything I said about him being so 'great'...

...here's how I swiftly dealt with a big Ward fan. No harm, no foul, all in agreement.

Why can't you STFU about the nuthuggery?!?! Bute's resume is not that of top 3 SMW in comparison with Froch & Ward. Same time next year, it'll be there or at least on its way to get there.

    Have a cookie, bud. :D

Me no speak French. But I got the gist of it. Why even bother listing super six participants? To make the list look bigger? To make it look like Bute wants to fight someone decent?

    Mendy
    Stieglitz
    Dirrell
    Pavlik

Should all be considered. If you think that Brain ****ing Magee is the best option out there for Lucian Bute, then you are clearly not the poster I thought you were.

Not translating all of them, some are obviously like the Super Six lot, Kessler and Dirrell unavaiable, Sartison and Stieglitz turned it down. Of some of the others:

Allan Green - Not available for an IBF fight (apparently) after he was knocked out by Glen Johnson. Not ranked in the top 15 by the IBF.

Tavoris Cloud - Not available to fight at 168 (they obviously don't want to go to '75). Talking about his fight just gone with Zuniga, obviously believing he wouldn't be ready for a March 19th date.

Kelly Pavlik - No real notes, just says not available or suitable. Probably didn't want to fight at 168 or wanted a tune-up first, or still injured and not available for 19th.

Jean-Paul Mendy - Whoever wrote this piece admitted he hasn't even bothered to check whether Mendy would be an option.

Sakio Bika - According to Don King, he is available if they want to take that fight. They obviously decided against it because he's already beaten him.

Mendy was virtually ko'ed in round1 by Bika
    Stieglitz refused a offer somewhere around 900k-1 000mill $
    Dirrell is "injured"
    Pavlik is in D-tox

Probably just gave them a quick call... any interest in fighting @ 168? "Nope". Done deal.

Mendy - got knocked out cold by Bika, Interbox said he didn't belong in the same ring as Bute
Stieg - refused to fight the man multiple times, for ridiculously big amounts of cash
    Dirrell - un****inavailable for March
Pavlik - out drinking... seriously though, with a Top Rank VP (Moretti) talking about Pav NOT BEING READY, he's not an option.

    Sooo.... fail. :D

And I won't deny that. It's just not a simple walk in the park, that's all. Mendy would be.

Don (King? :?) spoke to Al Haymon directly, who informed him that Taylor isn't boxing anytime soon.
