They should have found someone slightly more articulate to win the first fight and do the first network TV MMA interview :patsch

Would it kill them to put a BJJ blackbelt on this card? I guess quick KOs are nice, but it'd be nice to introduce some new MMA fans to some good, skilled ground fighting.

Atleasy Joey V. has good boxing technique and is well-spoken, unlike 'Grim Doooos Work' Rogers.

Apparently this card is booked with stand up fights in mind. It's not necessarily a well rounded representation of mixed-martial-arts, but at least it's giving us entertaining fights. Grim Rogers was so raw that it reminded me of early MMA events such as the World Combat Championship or Extreme Fighting as those cards featured a mix of raw competitors that weren't quite ready for mixed martial arts competition.

But in other news. . .

    Carano-Young is next!!!

Good first round from Carano and Young. Lots of sharp kicks. Ah, it's so nice to be watching some good technique after that first fight.

Great fight! Carano is going to become a superstar. Kudos to both fighters for putting on such a gutty show.

Young was overmatched, but she had heart. Carano's standup looks a bit sloppy mid way through the second, but for the most part, damn. She's got some good technique and managed to outbox another good Muy Thai fighter. It was obvious she wasn't in great cardio shape, but she got the job done. That front kick worked very well.

Hopefully people stuck around to watch that and didn't flip the channel when Rogers spent 30 seconds trying to figure out how to say "do."

Brian Stann could KO Rodgers in my opinion

Shame on anyone booing this fight. What a great, great battle. Scott Smith is a freakin' warrior to the bone, and Lawler's hands look really good tonight.

Well I'm sure most of these fans are there to watch a 20sec Kimbo fight.

Man, I don't know about that doctor's stoppage. Smith wanted to go and had 5 minutes to recover from the poke in the eye. I guess I really don't see the point. That ***** stopped two of four fights so far, though it was apparent Young's eye was swollen shut. Still, I think that doctor is jealous of Gina and wants to be the female face of fight stoppages.
