Pretty bored, its Saturday 2am, came back. Thought i might upgrade my boxing knowledge, by having rank'em every Saturday nights(dont worry, no p4p rankings). Anyway, i will see how it goes, i got rankings for every weightclass(including minimum weight!). This week: FROM 1960 and up: Junior Lightweight(130) 1.Alexis Arguello 2.Floyd Mayweather Jr 3.Manny Pacquiao 4.Julio Cesar Chavez 5.Gabriel ''Flash'' Elorde 6.Azumah Nelson 7.Acelino Freitas 8.Samuel Serrano 9.Brian Mitchell 10.Genaro Hernandez What do you think. I know the last 2 are fairly unkown, but they did a good amount of defenses(although weak opposition). Im not so sure about Flash Elorde. If someone could enlight me on the quality of his opposition, i think i would move him up.
Pacquiao should not be that high IMO. At the weight he went 2-1 against a faded Morales, decisioned a faded Barrera, and fought to a virtuall standstill with Marquez. He just didn't do enough at the weight to warrant that high of a placing IMO. Freitas really shouldn't be on the list either. A guy like Bobby Chacon or Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Bazooka Limon, Rolando Navarrete should all be above him IMO. Elorde beat the great Sandy Saddler, Johnny Bizzarro, Harold Gomes (twice), and some other decent fighters. He was the division's longest reigning champion and made 10 defenses. I'm not an expert on his career myself, but I would keep him below Arguello, Mayweather, Nelson, and Chavez.
