Bellew-Chilemba, Crolla-Matthews are two very interesting fights. Dickens in with an unbeaten fighter (10-0), Fielding has a decent opponent for this stage of his fight and we get to see an additional two hours of the undercard with the red button on Sky. All in all, I think this looks like an excellent night's boxing. I would give this show 7/10. Satisfied punter this week:good http://boxrec.com/date_search.php?yyyy=2013&mm=03&dd=30
I hope that the red button facility gets good numbers to encourage Sky to continue with this feature.
I went with satisfied. This should be the minimum for a Sky card while its 20 dates. April 20th looks good aswell. Every televised fight is at least a 60-40.
Eddie has been putting on some good competitive fights, Selby-Lindsay, Crolla-Matthews, Ryder-O'Kane etc, they havent all been his own fighters, but as he said in the interview with iFilm he has to balance his cards by either working short term with some of the fighters or collaborating with other promoters, so that he is making some competitive fights. It really shouldnt be a problem making good fights as he holds the power with the negotiation, some fighters are going to have to take a punt on a hard match up to earn their place on the next show.
I like the fact Eddie knows he has to work with other promoters. Adding the Derry v Crolla fight and Jazza fight makes this card for me in a way. Without them its a just about average card with a decent top of the bill fight.
They will carry on with it as the fights are being filmed anyway- I doubt it's that much of an issue to screen the extra two hours. Kudos to Hearn for delivering this. The card likely will be solid if not spectacular in my opinion.
He obviously gets on well with Coldwell and Hatton to an extent. I suspect Hatton's fighters will carry on short term without a TV deal with both Boxnation and Sky screening their fights.
Would like to see them put Quigg & Frampton on the same bill this year to build a fight between them in the winter. Get Framtpton vs Romero for the IBF and have Quigg v Casey for the WBA regular. Do it at the 02 in Dublin. Opens up an extra 6,000 ticket sales and exposes both to the Irish market.
No chance that bill would be in Dublin, Frampton will be fighting in Belfast in front of his army of fans that are primarily based in Belfast.
Good main for a bogus belt. Good support. Stalker, Callum etc are fighting bums so its record padding and tv filling. It's only 2 solid fights deep from what I can see. I like to see 3 fights deep with a good support cast of youngsters in legit fights.
