In the Super 6 Tourmament the Sauerlands sacrificed Mikkel Kessler and had him go abroad to Oakland in the first fight as defending champion.

Kessler was sacrificed to protect Abraham.

    ----

How did that gamble on Abraham turn out?

    ................

Now Sauerland want Abraham to rule the 168 division and is removing one of the main obstacles Mikkel Kessler. Now the idea is that Abraham meets a Pole and then fights for the WBO belt in the next fight (the belt Kessler should have fought for). The Sauerlands 'had to' push Kessler to LHW because they could see no real space for Abraham if Kessler got the WBO belt while Ward and Bute/Froch had the other belts.

    ----

How do you think this gamble on Abraham will turn out? Are they doing the clever thing?

For a money standpoint.. Then yeah maybe.. Abraham may be able to beat Stieglitz for the WBO title, even though it's doubtfull (imo).
But if they can get Abraham the title, they could make some money handpicking opponents for Arthur in Germany, while Kessler tries to beat beat the LHW champions in big cash fights.
Of course this is 100% hypothetical..

Sauerland's strategies have failed for the most part over the last years: the Super Six pretty much ruined the careers of AA and Kessler, Marco Huck's fight at HW was unsuccessful, and now this whole moving Kessler to LHW to get Abraham a paper title at 168. Doubt this will work...
