or hire other trainers into their stable to co train with him. i always had this feeling that because he was such a big well known german boxing legend that he has nobody superior to him. and i think he creates good bonds with his fighters. if sauerland fire him they will cut thier stable into crisis.

just bring more open minded trainers to the camp.

Excatly! And now he is just an accident waiting to happen. He had that flashy style with a lots of creativiness in his work.. Hernandez is naturally a slick and tricky boxer but we don't see it anymore.

Great post, never liked the Sauerland/Wegner/German style guys like Abraham and Sturm seem to adopt. There's no real skill involved, it's either 'attack mode' or 'defence mode' with no transition between to two and very little counter-punching.

Huck is always entertaining and Abraham is interesting just because of his power but I can't think of many other of their fighters that are actually good the watch.

I understand german I can't honestly remember him giving much useful tactical advice in the corner. He either tells his fighters to keep their guard up or throw more punches (usually good advice for Abraham). Thats pretty much it.

Because he is a bad trainer! Every fighter has to fight his style! Old Uli is not looking after the natural style of the fighter he says the fighter has to fight his style.
But most of the young prospects are going now all to Röwer who is a better trainer then Wegner.

As Juhani Tamminen says - keep it simple and stupid K.i.s.s.

Ironic, coming from someone who never set foot in a boxing ring and attacks those with far more experience, knowledge and achievements than her and tries to imbue her own political agenda on the sport :rofl

Indeed, Wegner is even more limited than those he trains. Sauerland needs to dump him as their stable-man

I dont see a good future for Sauerland... When AA is done (I think he is) whats left? Huck and Hernandez as World Champion. They have many good fighters... but World Champion and Stars? I really dont know. There are so many very good german amateurs right now! they have to get some of these. And maybe guys like Zeuge or Culcay can bring a good future for Sauerland.

The EX-DDR Trainers are the worse trainers ever in professional boxing.

    And latest..

    Dirks was exposed..
Helenius didn't look too good against Sprott and hurt his hand again..
Huck was awful against Arslan and I thought he narrowly lost the fight.
Gerber went trough hell to get a win against Oloukun..
Rigth now Woge showing us what Sauerland boxing is all about... So predictable and stiff.

There is no happiness or any creativiness. They don't look like they are having a good time in the ring.

Just imagine: a slick sauerland fighter..

Pacquiao-Mayweather 2010 was more likely to happen :D
