Alvarez has the heart of a lion, a genuine knockout punch, fantastic aggression and a good engine behind him. Problem is defensively he's still green, still making mistakes - a matter of being young and only recently being put against higher level opposition. I think Khan picks him apart, gradually, from long range using raid tactics. I think Khan's speed would outweigh Alvarez's power. Copy and paste predictions for the Maidana fight here, delete 'Maidana' and write 'Alvarez'. To be honest I think Maidana more dangerous as Alvarez needs at least another year to gain experience and properly grow into the sport, so to speak. Don't get me wrong though, Alvarez is one of my favourite boxers at the minute for his exciting fights and his style.
I think that's a ridiculous statement after what we saw on saturday night. Khan would be head and shoulders above anything Canelo has faced so far. Right now I pick Khan but if Alvarez continues to build slowly like he has been doing he has the potential to be great. Definitely one for the future but I wouldn't rush Canelo into this bout.
What is it a ridiculous statement? Khan was nearly out with the first real clean punch Maidana landed on him. Canelo is a bigger man with overall a bigger punch than Maidana. LOL @ people thinking Khan's chin is good or something now.
Not sure about comparative size, and agree Alvarez has a good inside game. But Roach would see that a mile off and have Khan dancing around, firing from distance - the game plan would to stay out of the pocket and not let Alvarez get in close. Khan on points. Alvarez vs Khan in a couple years would be epic, once Saul gets more experience and better names on his resume - he is still fighting faded, older fighters for name value at this stage - similar to what Khan did versus Barrera a couple years ago, but on a smaller scale.
Alvarez Destroys him.... 2011 Alavarez will be campaigning at 147 against M hatton and Senchenko... Khan can clean out 140 and move up to where he would be more comfortable at 147.. 2012 looking good.. if GBP doesn't **** up
De La Hoya wont let that fight happen anytime soon until there's atleast 10's of millions on the table.
no, khan would be pounced on we have yet to see alvarez really be tested but he is a mean dude, i can see it, hes going to be wild!!! EDIT: get a load of this . . . This content is protected guess hes no gym rat :bart
