I fully expect Alvarez to win, but the method of victory that i feel he will win by is either by tight, but deserving UD, or via Robbery as he is fighting in Mexico. I cant see it being an easy fight if the right Rhodes turns up. Rhodes on a good night has a decent chance of an uspet, but he is so hit and miss with his performances. Rest assured he knows this is the biggest fight of his career so he will be in tip top shape and up for the challenge. People really are writing Rhodes off but having seen a lot of his fights i know he is awkward enough to make Alvarez miss and get annoyed, hits hard enough to hurt, and has the skills and chin to survive 12 rounds. Its a closer fight than people think IMO and one that i am really looking forward to. I just wish the fight was on neutral ground so the judges would score it fair
Ryan can win this fight its 50/50 for me Alvarez will have local support which might swing it his way on the cards. But im going for Rhodes to get the TKO between 8/11.
Rhodes did 12 with Grant, lost to Matthews at WBO level and to Blundell at middleweight. I think Rhodes throws fights away, takes chances and gets caught, at 160lbs he did not have the advantage he has at 154lbs. Listen, if Rhodes is at the top of his game, at the very least he will really test Alvarez. If Alvarez comes in below par and Ryan comes to win on top form then the title is coming home.
I think Canelo is at a stylistic disadvantage in this fight but he should come through either by a close points decision or by late stoppage, i expect Rhodes to ask a lot of Canelo during the middle rounds if he's allowed to settle into his groove, but not have enough to maintain it down the stretch.
stupidest group? he was almost out against cotto, a career ****ing lightweight with a horrible ko percentage at that. i had 10 units on that fight at -1000. now this could have been a fluke but he has yet to fight someone with power. in fact, he has yet to fight someone at the 154 fight limit. he is a tweener, cannot make 147 but will not step up to 154 and will only fight at catchweights. does this not seem odd to you? it's because he is being protected by gbp as there is too much money behind him and they know the window of opportunity is small. you're doubting both freddy roach and jmm whom have been very vocal against canelo in the last 18 months. betting against these guys has not been very lucrative for a handicapper in the last five years.
