**** stoppage. Still though, the difference was Canelos combination punching.

    Decision requires no defence.

Unless Angulo wants to end up like Mago, he should be thankful to Weeks.

Man lost every single round and was taking a ****-kicking.

I think people would be more satisfied if we went back to Gladiator fight to the death fights.

It just seems real suspicious that Angulo hands looked extra slow with hardly any pop all of a sudden in this fight.

Psssh.. a poor mans margarito don't almost beat Lara :deal

Kirkland wouldn't last 3 rounds? Yeah I know he would spark out Canelo in less than that.

Angulo came in at 174 shows he was weigh drained even though he made weight 20 pounds is just too much for a fighter.

GREAT stoppage by Weeks. Alvarez telegraphed that left uppercut, and Angulo still let it get through his raised arms, and he got ROCKED. Alvarez had dominated the first 9+ rounds, no point in letting the fight continue. The fight scored itself, Alvarez was leading through 9 rounds, 9-0 rounds, 90-81 points. Alvarez basically was sparring with a heavy bag for most of those 9 rounds, he sat in the pocket, and landed power shot after power shot, lefts and rights to the head and body, usually single shots but occasional combinations. Angulo, in contrast, was lethargic from the opening bell, he seemed content to sit in the pocket and take all those heavy shots. Angulo did gradually come on in rounds 6-8, he pressed forward more, got inside, and landed a number of his own shots, finally waking up the crowd, but Alvarez was still easily winning those rounds with his superior workrate, punches landed, and power. On the downside for Alvarez, he showed ZERO footspeed, ZERO lateral movement, mediocre handspeed, and he DID get hit with a number of hard shots in the later rounds. He did show a little shoulder-roll in the 9th round that excited the crowd. Tonight was simply a showcase for Alvarez, and a chance for him to get his confidence back against a "name" but limited opponent.
